Willingham's brother was among the few to break their silence regarding the passing. He said his brother was his biggest supporter, and he was still in disbelief that he was gone. "You will be forever loved and missed. Until we meet again," wrote the distraught brother.

Since announcing the sad news, Slaton broke her silence with an Instagram post. She shared a photo of her and Williham hugging each other, expressing how much she will miss him. "thank you, Caleb, for showing me real love and happiness," wrote Slaton.

Willingham and Slaton's relationship started when they were both working hard on their weight loss journey. They each understood the struggles of dealing with obesity-related health issues and provided a shoulder to lean on during the emotional turmoil.

Tammy Slaton and Caleb Willingham's Love Story

Slaton and Willingham first met in 2022 at a rehab facility in Ohio, where they were treated for their obesity issues. By October, they were engaged, and by November, news of their wedding held at the same rehab facility where they met, hit the headlines.

Before the wedding, Slaton hit a milestone and had a successful gastric bypass surgery which she had worked hard to qualify for. Looking back at her big day, Slaton said, "It was the best day of our lives." The bride thanked all her friends and family who attended and filled her special day with more love.

The early days of their courtship were filled with romance. Slaton remembered how Willingham swept her off her feet with their first kiss. She recalled how direct her husband was as he pushed the control switch, bumped into her wheelchair, then leaned over and kissed her.

Being a new wife was amazing for Slaton. She felt energetic and happier than she had ever been with any of her previous partners. Even though the reality star was a bit ahead in her weight loss journey, she said it did not change the dynamic of her relationship with her husband.

In fact, since Slaton understood how difficult the journey can be, she and Willingham supported each through the ups and downs. When he struggled with his diet and felt like eating to soothe his emotions, Slaton provided the emotional comfort he needed.

"We talk about our issues and why we feel this way. We are true partners." reiterated the reality star. Slaton loved everything about her husband, especially how sweet he was and how well he treated her.

One of her sisters, Amy, was also supportive of her finding her happiness. After everything she saw Slaton endure, she was proud of her gastric bypass surgery and the love she found with Willingham. Amy also had her own gastric surgery and lost over 100 lbs.

However, sometime this year, there was trouble in paradise. Reports stated that Slaton and Willingham were going through a tough time that could lead to a divorce.

The reality star's legal team revealed that she already had a team lined up, ready to file for divorce. The decision to split was allegedly due to Willingham not sticking to his diet. He had reportedly gained an additional 30 lbs and had not worked on his prescribed program.

The couple allegedly got into a heated argument that led to Willingham asking for a divorce. But after a while, he took his words back and tried to get back to his diet.

The couple did everything to fix their marriage, but nothing led to a resolution. Slaton's family was also encouraging her to pursue a divorce.

An insider reckoned that Slaton wanted someone who cared about their health. Since she was trying hard to work on her fitness, she wanted Willingham to put effort into his well-being too.

Moreover, the reality star was in the middle of her recovery and did not have the capability to take care of herself and another person. "The relationship is pointless," the source added.

The insider also reasoned that the two did know much about each other since their relationship started in rehab. Therefore, when Slaton got out and left Willingham there, the distance took a toll on their marriage.

The divorce would have been easy since Slaton reportedly got Willingham to sign a prenup. The split between the couple was allegedly not a surprise to fans since they had already started putting clues together from the "1000-lb Sisters" reality show.
