When Austin reached the hospital's emergency department with James, they immediately took her inside the operation theatre to perform two surgeries simultaneously―an emergency C-section and a brain surgery.

After the birth of her baby girl, James underwent four more brain surgeries while her little one rested in the NICU. According to the GoFundMe page created by James' sisters to raise funds for her medical expenses, things would have been much worse if Austin didn't rush his wife to the hospital on time. James and her baby could have died otherwise.

After undergoing multiple surgeries, doctors kept the new mom in a medically induced coma in the hospital's ICU. Meanwhile, her baby was under observation in the NICU for 12 days.

Since James was in a coma, she couldn't see her daughter, but her family placed the little one on her mother's chest and took a photo of the heartwarming moment. Regarding her recovery, James' sisters said:

"Jackie is continuing to fight for her life each day, and we are optimistic she can beat the odds by surrounding her with the right specialists and methods of therapy."

On July 2, 2023, James' family shared an update regarding her health condition. They posted it on her Instagram account, thanking her followers for praying for her recovery. According to the post, James was moved to "one of the best neurological rehabilitation hospitals in the country" after she woke up from her coma.

The post further revealed that the influencer's medical test results showed progress, and doctors were hopeful after studying her health condition. However, James' family still requested prayers and support because she still needed treatment to return to everyday life.

More importantly, James has been reunited with her baby, meeting her little girl for the first time. Besides spending time with her family in the hospital, the new mom has been bonding with her baby girl. After undergoing multiple surgeries and medical tests, James is finally enjoying little bits of motherhood.

Besides setting up an online fundraiser to raise $450,000 for James' medical treatment, her family took care of her baby while she was in a coma. They also updated her friends and followers about her condition and thanked them for their immense support.

One of James' sisters, Nicelle Herrington, wrote a heartfelt post on Instagram on June 4, sharing that her "world crashed" upon learning that James experienced a ruptured aneurysm. She added:

"All she ever wanted was to be a mother, but instead, their lives were on the line."

At that point, Herrington had no idea what would happen to her sister, and she felt sad watching her little niece meet her unconscious mother. In her post, she thanked everyone for their love and support.
