Donald Clark Osmond Jr Was Tired of the Media & Decided to Go Into PR – Facts about Donny Osmond's Son
Donald Clark Osmond Jr. never witnessed the height of his dad's career in the 1980s but experienced living under his dad's shadow as he grew older. That was until his dad made some significant changes so he could have as normal a childhood as possible.
In August 2020, legendary singer Donny Osmond shared a newspaper clipping from 41 years before. It showed him smiling as a young man with his wife as they held their first newborn baby.
Alongside the then-new family of three, a Wichita, Kansas newspaper announced that Donald Clark Osmond Jr. had arrived on July 31 that year at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, and he weighed seven pounds and seven ounces.
Donald descends from a large family known for producing world-renowned entertainers; however, he opted for a career behind the scenes though he has appeared onscreen. His journey had challenges, but Donny's eldest son finally found something aligned.
Donald Clark Osmond Jr. Transitioned from Entertainment Marketing to Business Marketing
Donald's venture into entertainment marketing was motivated by how the media often reported unkindly about his dad. Eventually, he also became a victim of bad press as he lamented:
"I was sick and tired of the media. I just had a lot of bad experiences. It ate at me. So I decided I'd go into PR and become the spin doctor of all spin doctors."

However, as noble as his intentions were, controlling how the world viewed his family wasn't easy. As digital media evolved, influencing pop culture, he learned that people were drawn to stories that made them curious and those that made them care.
And with that in mind, he transitioned from entertainment to business marketing, launching his firm OzComm. Before embarking on his corporate career, however, Donald served as his church's missionary for two years abroad, which has long been an Osmond tradition.

Donald Clark Osmond Jr. Is a Father and Husband
Donald has been married to Jessica Nelson Osmond since 2010. The couple has four children, the youngest of whom was born in December 2021. His dad, now a proud grandfather of 14, announced the baby's arrival on Instagram.
Donny also shared when Donald and Jessica were expecting months before. The couple's journey into parenthood initially had its challenges but eventually worked out. They have guarded their boys against the public eye, as Donald rarely updates his Twitter or Facebook pages.
Donald Clark Osmond Jr. Developed a Close Bond With His Dad
Donald's relationship with Donny is well-chronicled in the musician's memoir, "Life Is Just What You Make It." Donny explained how he and his wife, Debbie Osmond, agreed that she would move from Chicago back to Utah with Donald, and his younger brother, Jeremy Osmond.
"Debbie and I agreed that the boys needed a home, a school, and a network of friends that would not be subject to change every time Joseph moved to another city," he wrote. Unfortunately, moving meant Donny had to be absent for much of Donald's childhood.

Moreover, Donny admitted to being a tad too disciplinarian to his boys. It drove a wedge between him and Donald, who felt his dad wasn't there for him. That was until they finally had a heart-to-heart one night which became a turning point in their relationship.
They had many other touching moments, some of which Donny later discovered meant much more to Donald than he imagined. And despite some bad press, other outlets depicted how well-raised Donald and his younger brothers, Christian Osmond, Brandon Osmond, and Joshua Osmond are.
