Jeremy James Osmond Has Built a Career in Healthcare – Facts about Donny Osmond's Son

Jeremy James Osmond is one of the few Osmond family members who didn't pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Instead, he's spent years working towards obtaining his Doctorate and helping others.

Despite having a famous father and family members, Jeremy James Osmond has had his eyes set on the healthcare industry for years. In fact, Jeremy James Osmond's father revealed that his son hated the Osmond family image.

However, after years of rebellion, Jeremy James Osmond made his way back to the Mormon religion, which took him worldwide. Jeremy James Osmond is also a happily married man and welcomed his famous father's first grandchild.

Jeremy James Osmond Went through a Rebellious Phase and Didn't Speak to His Family for Years

During an interview, Donny revealed that Jeremy had gone through a period where he rebelled against everything his father valued. The singer shared that his second son had pierced his tongue and eyebrows, dyed his hair with leopard spots, left home, and rejected the church.

The singer added there was a possibility that Jeremy had engaged in premarital sex and abused drugs. But the part that caused Jeremy's father the most pain was when he stopped speaking to his dad and his family for four years. Donny said:

"I think a lot of the rebellion came from the fact that he was my son—you know, this whole Osmond thing. He couldn't stand the whole Osmond image. When you are forced to be a certain thing, that's why you want to rebel: 'I don't want to be pigeonholed, I don't want to be just another Mormon Osmond,' you know."

Jeremy James Osmond Turned His Life around and Is Now a Proud Family Man

After four years of estrangement and abandoning his faith, Jeremy's dad said his son "came back." Donny shared, "In the end, he realized, 'You know what, I don't need to do this.'"

Donny and his son were on better terms in 2016 when he turned to Facebook to celebrate his son's birthday with a throwback photo of the father-son duo. "Happy birthday to my son Jeremy. I'm so proud of the wonderful man and father you've become," Donny captioned the post.

The "Puppy Love" singer added that Jeremy also returned to Mormonism and served on a mission in Italy. And in 2002, Jeremy and his wife, Melisa Osmond, said "I do" in front of their family members.

In honor of their 19th wedding anniversary in December 2021, Jeremy's wife took a trip down memory lane on Instagram to share a sentimental video montage of the couple over the years. Melisa shared:

"[...] Our wedding video is on a VHS tape, and our wedding pictures were on film camera! It all makes me feel old and makes me feel so grateful and proud of what we have created! I love the quote, 'A perfect marriage is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other.'"

Donny revealed that during Jeremy and Melisa's wedding ceremony over twenty years ago, he sparked an unlikely friendship with Melisa's disabled brother, Ryan. After going for a joyride in Donny's red Mustang, the pair kept in contact via phone calls, letters, and e-mails.

Three years after officially becoming Mr. and Mrs. Osmond, Jeremy and his wife welcomed their eldest son and Donny and his wife's first grandchild, Dylan. A few years later, Jeremy's family grew again after Melisa welcomed their daughter, Emy.

And in 2013, the couple welcomed their second son and youngest child, Ryder. In honor of his 7th birthday in 2020, Jeremy's wife opened up about their son's birth and shared:

"The day Ryder was born, the room was filled with Sunshine, and this precious boy came into the world!! It was the most amazing birth ever, and he has filled us with sunshine ever since!!"

Jeremy James Osmond Earned His Doctorate Degree and Has Over Ten Years of Experience as a Physical Therapist

Donny Osmond and his wife, Debbie Osmond, welcomed Jeremy on June 8, 1981, two years after their eldest son, Donald Clark Osmond Jr., was born. The couple later welcomed three more children: Brandon Osmond, Christopher Osmond, and Joshua Osmond.

Over the years, Jeremy has earned a few television credits, including appearing in Martha Stewart's cooking show, "Martha" and "Dancing with the Stars."

However, he has found success as a Physical Therapist. After studying Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Utah, Jeremy earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has since worked as a physical therapist and held senior positions such as Director, CEO, and Presiden of various rehabilitation organizations.
