He grew up nearby Kenmure castle, where he and his sibling played as kids. The successful screen and stage actor is best known for appearing in the TV series, "Outlander" and "A Princess for Christmas."

As an actor who has also starred in "The Spy Who Dumped Me" alongside Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon, and Justin Theroux, Heughan's fans have not only loved his roles but have taken an interest in his personal life.

Like many other stars, he has been rumored to be gay. However, he addressed the speculation, including other issues such as bullying and harassment he had endured.

In April 2020, Heughan took to his Twitter account and wrote a statement about what had been said and done to him and his loved ones. He started by saying that after being bullied, harassed, and stalked while also being a victim of a false narrative, he was left devastated and "upset" and, therefore, had to address what had been said about him.

He explained the rumors and constant bullying and harassment were affecting his mental health and daily life, adding those close to him were also targets.

The movie star said he avoided addressing these concerns because he hoped the bullies would disappear. Heughan further penned:

"Recently, these false claims, vary from me manipulating fans, being a closet-homosexual, trying to mislead or exhort fans for money and disregarding Covid advice. I’ve done non of the above. [sic]"
