'Please Tell Us It Was for Charity': John Cena as Kenmaid Sparked an Avalanche of Comments
John Cena had fans laughing with a video of himself with long blonde hair, dressed as a Kenmaid. Fans took to Twitter with their reactions to Cena's exciting look.
John Cena's Ken mermaid video recently hit the internet. The behind-the-scenes "Barbie" feature showed the wrestler-turned-actor in long blonde locks as he explained why he liked the film's storyline.
However, fans were more engaged with his on-point costume and took to Twitter with their reactions. Many of them found Cena's look hilarious.
"Please tell us it was for charity," one fan quipped. Some expressed their excitement about seeing Cena's cameo in "Barbie" since his costume was "so [good]," while others compared him to Taylor Swift's 2006-era look. Another fan tweeted:
"I wanna look like [Barbie] but always end up like John Cena's Kenmaid."
In Cena's video, he expressed his thoughts about the film and believed it was a movie that would spark conversation. He was also happy to have a role in the movie as one of the Kens in Barbie Land. Interestingly, Cena was offered the role after running into "Barbie" star Margot Robbie and pitching himself.
The former wrestler called the circumstance a "happy accident" while filming "Fast X" across the street. He was ready to do anything needed for the film, making his offer more attractive.
Cena is not the only star who makes a cameo in "Barbie." Dua Lipa fans would be thrilled to know that she also has a role in the film, playing one of the many variations of Barbie. Lipa takes the part of a mermaid-inspired doll. She also wrote and performed "Dance the Night," the first single in "Barbie."
Before confirming her cameo, fans speculated that Lipa would appear in the film. In December, when the official "Barbie" Instagram was created, it followed the "Levitating" artist's account. However, it later unfollowed Lipa.
The "Barbie" movie social media accounts recently posted 24 character posters, including Lipa's. Robbie's look-alike, Emma Mackey, also appears in the film. Other cast members include Robbie as the lead Barbie, Ryan Gosling as Ken, Simu Liu as another Ken, and Issa Rae as another Barbie.
Some "Barbie" cast members have promoted the film in several locations, including Margot Robbie, who was always dressed in pink. Since starring in the movie, many have noticed how Robbie perfectly fits the role, especially as she channeled her inner Barbie several times before.
