Bryce Dallas Howard Raises 2 Kids with Husband She Met 22 Years Ago - Inside Their LA Home Full of Plants

Movie actress Bryce Dallas Howard is married to actor Seth Gabel. The couple share two children and have settled down in Los Angeles.

In June 2022, Howard and Gabel invited Architectural Digest into their humble abode and retold the story of how they first envisioned their marital home would look like.

The pair revealed they visited actress Mia Farrow's farmhouse and were left in awe of how it looked. Howard, the daughter of Academy Award-winning director, Ron Howard, said:

"It was the most magical place. Her house was full of stories and treasures, mementos of such a legendary life."

With an idea of what they wanted their new home to look like, the Golden Globe Award nominee took a personal approach to designing it.

She contacted her longtime friend, Claire Thomas, to help decorate her four-bedroom, two-story new-build property where she and her husband and kids moved after living in Upstate New York for many years.

Together, Howard and the interior designer came up with an old Hollywood theme for the home. They included bright colors, references to their favorite movies and TV shows, and dramatic flourishes.

For most of the home, the couple opted for a pink and green aesthetic. While giving a home tour, Howard shared she and her spouse Gabel are nature lovers; hence they made sure they had a lot of plants inside their house.

Just after the entrance to the abode, they have wall portraits of pets on one side and a vintage piece on the opposite side. The light fixtures hanging beside the paintings are from Lightology, a lighting store, and the console beneath it is from the retail company Anthropologie.

Gabel and Howard's home office has a blue theme color with wood furniture inspired by "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Their living room features antique brass ceilings with wallpapers inspired by filmmaker Miyazaki.

The black-wall-tiled powder room with tulip wallpaper is a homage to the beginning of the lovebirds' relationship. Howard explained that when they started dating, she went to Amsterdam, known for its tulip fields.

Their house is filled with circular elements for a retro-future vibe, including a U-shaped couch and pillows. Their coffee table features a terrazzo element which can also be found on their breakfast table.

The kitchen has wooden floors, green and pink cabinets with brass handles, and black countertops on the island. The main bedroom has a contemporary aesthetic, with two armchairs in front of the bed.

Howard said they were inspired by the 1980s retro-futurism for their bedroom, which also features vintage pieces. The other side of the room has pink wallpaper of dinosaurs which is a nod to her film, "Jurassic World."

The couple's bathroom features a green bathtub, terrazzo countertops with wooden cabinets, and more plants around the space.

Fans commented on Howard and Gabel's home under the Architectural Digest YouTube video, with one person saying, "While not at all my style, or how I'd want to decorate my (dream) home, their home is absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully put together and thought through. Unique, yet warm and inviting. Love it!"

Another commented, "I love how this home is filled to the brim with such personal details. As a "Star Wars" fan, I appreciate all the nods to the Star Wars universe! Thanks for this fun, inspiring home tour."

A third YouTube user complimented the pair's estate saying, "Her house looks so much like a doll house, cozy and colorful. LOVELY!"

While someone else wrote, "They created a true love story with their space – an ode to a relationship, their careers, the environment. Intentional design decisions made, they truly cared about the home they were creating."

Howard & Gabel Have Two Children Who Are Big Fans of Their Mom's Work

Howard and Gabel are parents to two kids. They welcomed their son Theo in February 2007, while their daughter Beatrice was born in 2012.

After becoming a mom, Howard became inspired to direct her 2020 documentary, "Dads," where celebrity dads opened up about their fatherhood journeys.

Ahead of the film's release in June 2020, the "Spider-Man 3" star spoke candidly about her motherhood experience and how it inspired her work:

"After having kids, the stakes in my life got a lot higher. I can see the ways in which the stories I'm working on have an impact on me emotionally and how that all plays out with my family. "

Howard's eldest child, Theo, enjoys seeing her work and has even joined her on set before. In September 2019, she recalled when he was unimpressed by one of her projects.

She had directed one episode of "The Mandalorian," a [live-action] "Star Wars" show, and Theo stepped on set and looked around only to turn to her and ask her when she would be directing a Marvel film.

Although unimpressed with "The Mandalorian" project, he is reportedly a big fan of the "Jurassic World" franchise. In June 2018, Howard revealed her son was excited to see the film's sequel and even had "Jurassic World" sheets on his bed.

Meanwhile, her youngest child Beatrice is best friends with her co-star Chris Pratt's son, Jack. When Pratt and Howard appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to promote their movie, "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom," in December 2017, the "Passengers" star disclosed how he learned this.

The actor said he asked his son who he would want to have pizza with, and she responded by saying Beatrice, adding that he texted her mom to tell her this.

The mother-of-two also divulged that her daughter has become a big fan of the franchise and even goes to bed with little toy versions of the Indominus Rex.

How Howard Knew Her Husband Gabel Was "The One"

Howard and the father of her kids married in February 2006. They marked 22 years together in February 2023, with Howard posting a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, captioned:

"Celebrated 22 years together yesterday. We didn't make plans, and I've gotta say, it was our best anniversary yet."

The Broadway star shared that she and her beloved spouse took a walk, went down memory lane, and binge-watched "Nigella Bites," their favorite show from the earlier days of their relationship.

At the end of their evening, they conversed about their dreams in the two decades they had been together, and it was "wild and amazing to imagine the possibilities."

The red-haired actress expressed her love for the "Nip/Tuck" star and thanked him for how they began their romance. She disclosed that she still has a souvenir from back then:

"I love you, Seth Gabel — thanks for going on that date 22 years ago. I still own the sweater I wore that night because I JUST KNEW. Happy Anniversary."

The Instagram post came after her love posted a sweet tribute to her on Valentine's Day. Gabel posted a picture of his beautiful wife and captioned it, "My Valentine," alongside a red heart emoji.

In February 2021, Howard recalled the duo's first date in 2001 and how relieved she was to have had the courage to ask Gabel out, adding, "I love you, Seth Gabel. I loved you the first moment I met you."

The Florida native and the mother of his kids first crossed paths while studying acting at New York University. She once called him amazing for supporting her career, which involves much traveling.
