Fans have often wondered if Sheryl Crow is gay. The renowned singer, known for advocating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community, has only publicly dated men throughout her life. Despite her support for LGBTQ+ rights, there is no evidence to suggest that she identifies as gay.

Sheryl Crow has two sons and has been romantically linked to Hollywood men. She has openly talked about her dating life and the prospects of getting married despite not dating anyone publicly in recent years.

Her music has shown how much of a prominent supporter she is of the gay community. She even performed at a benefit concert to support Tennessee-based LGBTQ organizations.

The event was called Love Rising, and it occurred in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena on March 20, 2023, featuring artists including Maren Morris, Jason Isbell, Haley Williams, Brothers Osborne, and Jake Wesley Rogers, among others.

Fans Speculate about Sheryl Crow's Sexuality & Claim She Is a Gay Icon

Crow's beloved fans have taken to Twitter to discuss her sexuality. In February 2019, a social media user questioned, "Is Sheryl Crow gay? I feel like she’d be a pretty good spokesperson for it."

Meanwhile, in June 2019, someone else commented on the platform, "If your fav song when you were younger was 'Soak Up the Sun' by Sheryl Crow, you're gay now." Later in October 2019, a Twitter user boldly claimed, "Sheryl Crow is gay."

One year later, in October 2020, another user tweeted, "Sheryl Crow is a gay icon." In July 2022, one person asked on Twitter, "Does Sheryl Crow have a gay fanbase or is it just me?"

While another wrote, "Lol, only gays listen to Sheryl Crow. Good to know where you stand." Through her music, Crow has even confused fans. On her debut album, the song "What Can I Do for You," about sexual harassment, left fans thinking it was a lesbian song. However, she denied this in a November 1993 interview, saying:

"I’ve had a lot of women think it was a lesbian song, but most men have gotten it."

Sheryl Crow Dated Famous Men in the Past

Sheryl Crow once openly talked about her dating life during a July 2014 interview. She admitted that there had been a pattern with her earlier relationships and that she always fell short. She said:

"I had always gone out with guys who were highly successful, which would seem like it would put me at an equal level. But what ends up happening is that one of you becomes smaller — and it was always me."

The multi-Grammy Award winner's former boyfriends include A-list actor Owen Wilson and musician Eric Clapton. Crow revealed that her friend once advised her to "Embrace the idea of only having equals" in her life because only then would she notice a change in her relationships.

During that period, she had slowed down on the dating scene and disclosed that she was once set up on a date. She further revealed that her male pals had told her no one was "good enough" for her then.

In August 2019, Crow shared that she was still very much single but expressed keenness on being in a relationship soon. The mother of two has been linked to "The Good Wife" alum Josh Charles, whom she briefly went out with in early 2003.

The list includes "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, whom she reportedly dated briefly in 2006. That same year she was linked to actor Hank Azaria; two years later, it was film producer Steve Bing and later to music producer Doyle Bramhall.

Sheryl Crow's Relationship with Lance Armstrong & Comments about Being Unmarried

Crow previously dated former pro cyclist Lance Armstrong, whom she met at a charity event. Their paths crossed in October 2003, and she admittedly knew she was smitten. Less than two years later, he asked her to marry him during a trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, at a lake.

He recalled the proposal during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, sharing their boat at gotten stuck in the middle of a lake, and he saw the perfect opportunity to propose then. Although the athlete did not have a ring when he proposed, he later bought her a 6-carat cushion-cut diamond.

However, the couple parted ways less than six months after the romantic proposal. They released a joint statement revealing they had made a tough separation decision. But they did not state why. Crow later said, "It is like a death" of their breakup.

The pop star has been engaged three times. She reportedly divulged in a 2008 interview that she is unmarried because she chooses people who do not want to commit. During an appearance on "The Howard Stern Show" in May 2022, Crow joked that the main reason why she is not married at 60 is because she is "too hot."
