'Not Fully Out of the Woods': Tori Kelly's Husband Releases Update after Singer's Health Scare

Tori Kelly's husband, André Murillo, has been expressing his feelings online through his hospitalized wife's songs and gave a positive update on her condition on Wednesday.

"Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger," André Murillo gave a Tori Kelly health update via Instagram Stories on Wednesday. "Not fully out of the woods, but we see the sun."

The Grammy winner had experienced a raised heart rate while out with friends at a restaurant on Sunday evening. After a brief spell of unconsciousness, her friends took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The doctors found blood clots in her legs and lungs.

"Just waiting on a few more answers," Kelly's husband of five years added. A source told TMZ on Monday it was a "really serious" situation.

"Your love and kindness has been overwhelming (sic)," the German sportsman concluded the message that was written on a muted black background:

"Thank you so so much!"

"Fear is all I see," Murillo posted a lyric from Kelly's collaboration with Justin Bieber and Chandler Moore a Story, "Where Do I Fit In," earlier the week with the same dark background. In the snippet of the track, she sings:

"When I'm all alone, and fear is all I see / Sitting in the silence with these insecurities. And then you remind me, you're holding me tight / And you love me completely, you're always by my side."

The "Paper Hearts" singer and basketball player engaged in a long-distance relationship after being introduced by mutual friends in 2016. "My best friend said 'yes,'" he wrote on social media the following year, September after proposing.

They tried the knot in May 2018. Speaking to PEOPLE at the end of 2020, Tori Kelly confirmed that they have discussed having children in the future, but they are "not in any rush."
