Zendaya & Sydney Sweeney Post Somber Tributes in the Wake of 'Euphoria' Co-star Angus Cloud's Death
Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney have paid touching tributes to fellow "Euphoria" co-star Angus Cloud. They fondly recalled his "warm, kind eyes" and "open soul."
Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, known for their roles in "Euphoria," have taken to social media to express their condolences for their co-star Angus Cloud, who tragically passed away at age 25.
Zendaya, who portrays Rue Bennett, a close friend of Cloud's character Fezco in the drama series, penned a heartfelt tribute to the late actor.
She shared Cloud's black and white photo and began her post with the caption, "Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor)." She continued:
"I'm so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm, kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh."
The actress described Angus Cloud as s a vibrant individual who could brighten any space with his overflowing love and happiness. She concluded her message by sending her condolences to Cloud's mother and family.
Sydney Sweeney also paid a touching tribute to Cloud by sharing several photos and a video of herself with the late actor. Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard in the drama series, began her post by stating:
"Angus, you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to post, and I'm struggling to find all the words."
In her post, she fondly recalled her cherished moments with the actor, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to know him.
Cloud passed away on Monday at the age of 25. As per reports, the Oakland Police Department and Fire Department responded to a 911 call by Cloud's mother around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
She informed them about a "possible overdose" and said Cloud was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead on the scene. According to a source close to the family, the "Euphoria" star was battling suicidal thoughts after returning from Ireland to lay his father to rest.
According to a statement issued by the family, Cloud had been struggling with the recent loss of his father, who was laid to rest just a week before his passing. The family found solace in believing that Cloud was reunited with his beloved father, who was also his best friend.
Other "Euphoria" co-stars, such as Barbie Ferreira, known for her role as Kat Hernandez, Javon Walton, who portrayed Cloud's character Fezco's younger brother Ashtray, and Colman Domingo, known for playing Ali Muhammed, also took to Instagram to pay heartfelt tributes in honor of Cloud.
The show's creator, Sam Levinson, also expressed his deepest condolences, describing Cloud as "too special, too talented, and way too young to leave us so soon."
A close friend of Cloud's shared their last moments while in Ireland. The friend also mentioned that he had recently spoken to Cloud, and they talked about his father. The friend stated that Cloud felt saddened by the loss but seemed to cope reasonably well.
Cloud had never aspired to become a celebrity, but fame had different plans for him. One day, while he was out on the street, a casting scout discovered him.
Although he initially suspected it might be a scam, he decided to take a chance and took the agent's contact information, believing she was genuine. To his surprise, he received a call for a confidential audition but wasn't told he was auditioning for "Euphoria."
