Connie Stevens is an actress who appeared in several television shows including "Hawaiian Eye," which aired from 1959 to 1963, and the short-lived sitcom "Wendy and Me" (1964-1965).

The singer has been married twice in her lifetime. Actor James Stacy was her first husband, and they were married from 1963 to 1966. Stevens got hitched to another actor, Eddie Fisher, in February 1967.

The newly-wedded couple welcomed their eldest child Joely Fisher in October that same year. The pair's second and youngest daughter Tricia Fisher arrived in December 1968.

However, one year later, Stevens and Eddie divorced in June 1969 after two years of marriage. Stevens once said that since then, it has only been about her and her two kids.

The "Murder, She Wrote" star's children were only toddlers when she and their father parted ways. Eddie was an absent parent in his daughters' lives. The Fisher siblings found themselves spending more quality time with their mother, even when she was at work.

Not long after, they started performing with her on stage. Joely revealed in a December 2021 interview that she and her younger sister Tricia who is also now an actress, accompanied their mom on the road as kids.

The director and producer often asked her children to join her on stage. Yet Joely said it was not all glamorous because their mom was a single parent trying to make ends meet.

The brunette described her beloved mother as loving and giving. She always motivated them when they felt down and advised them when it came to their careers.

Stevens is still extremely close with her offspring. Her daughter Joely divulged in an August 2023 interview that the family matriarch becomes happy when she and her sister visit her, adding, "We surround her with love."

Stevens Suffered a Stroke

In addition to the shared love between her and her daughters, Stevens faced a health scare several years ago. The blonde-haired star suffered a stroke in 2016.

The television star later explained that she was hospitalized for sixteen days as she could not walk and was not able to move the entire left side of her body.

But Stevens' health has since improved. Her child Joely recently revealed that she is now in a residential care home while adding she has shown her strength by fighting for her life.

In a rare public appearance in October 2020, she was spotted out and about. While running errands in Los Angeles at the time, the "Scorchy" star, who was 82 years old then, was photographed dancing while holding onto her walker.

But that did not stop Stevens from showing off her good sense of humor out in the public eye as she kicked up one foot to the side and balanced herself by holding onto her walker.

Stevens' outing marked the first time the now-84-year-old esteemed Hollywood star had been seen in public since the COVID-19 pandemic that same year.

Stevens' Directorial Debut in Her Seventies & Working with Her Daughters

Despite her health issues, Stevens, who was reportedly born to musician parents, has been blessed with the opportunity to work with one of her kids, Joely. The two starred as mother and daughter in the movie, "Search Engines," (2016).

Stevens was thrilled to share the same set with her daughter and admitted her heart fills with joy whenever she walks inside a room. The doting mom added that she has enjoyed seeing Joely work and flourish in her craft.

Stevens has also celebrated accomplishments of her own. At age 74, she made her directorial debut in the film, "Saving Grace B. Jones," a movie she co-wrote and produced starring Tatum O'Neal. Although the movie received mixed reviews, Stevens finally got to understand the role of a director a bit better.

The Broadway star, who also appeared alongside John Travolta in "Grease 2," revealed she began working on the film at age 70. Stevens believes she is the first woman to have achieved that at that age.
