Pierce Brosnan’s Wife Became Mom to His Boy after He Was Widowed – Now She Thanks Spouse on 22nd Anniversary
- Keely Shaye Brosnan wished her husband a happy anniversary with throwback photos from their wedding.
- After losing his first wife, Cassandra, Pierce Brosnan struggled to commit to a relationship until he met Keely.
- Now happily married, the actor only has nice things to say about his wife, as does their son.
On August 5, 2023, Pierce Brosnan's wife, Keely Shaye Brosnan, celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary by sharing several Instagram images of their special day.
The first photo showed the couple sharing a kiss on their wedding day with their eyes closed. The second picture showed them sitting side-by-side and smiling as they posed for the camera; the third image revealed a more precise look at the bride's wedding gown and bouquet.
Another side-by-side picture appeared in the fourth frame, and the last one showed Keely being walked down the aisle by a man who might've been her father. In the post's caption, she wished her husband a happy anniversary, thanking him for "always being up for this adventure called life."
Pierce's wife concluded her post by noting the dates April 8, 1994 — when she met her husband, and August 4, 2001 — the day they married. Getting the "007" actor to fall in love with Keely and trust her enough to marry her took quite some time.
How Did Pierce Meet Keely, and What Role Does She Play in His Life?
When Pierce's first wife, Cassandra, passed away in 1991, he was left heartbroken and alone to raise their son, Sean, then eight. Three years later, he met his future wife, Keely, when she interviewed him as a journalist in Mexico.

The pair trod carefully, and a year into their relationship, the actor adamantly told her he didn't wish to marry. The journalist would go off and live her life, and he did what he wanted until they hooked up again.
Eventually, things deepened between them by 2001, and they married in his home country of Ireland after being together for seven years. Their sons, Dylan and Paris, were also present when they tied the knot.
In 2013, the actor noted how he knew what being a widower was like, but he also knew what it felt like to find love for the second time.

Keely's husband accepted life's ups and downs but confessed that memories of Cassandra and her fight against cancer will never be forgotten. Pierce revealed how kind and compassionate Keely was and that she encouraged him to mourn his late wife.
Despite being together for many years, he still envisioned that they had more dreams to fulfill.
The actor thought about his first wife frequently but felt his second wife was his North Star and always looked out for him. After being left to be a single father, he had to learn that in addition to his solo role, he needed to be held and loved.

He realized he had to move on after losing Cassandra and was lucky to have met the "wonderful gorgeous" Keely. In 2013, the couple had been together for 19 years, and Pierce called it his "good fortune."
How Do Pierce and Their Son Praise Keely?
In 2021, Pierce revealed how he valued and loved his family while describing his wife as the most amazing mother and woman. The James Bond actor said he'd watched his wife grow and their lives blossom over 27 years.

Despite being together for many years, he still envisioned that they had more dreams to fulfill. In 2019, Paris revealed how "great" and hands-on their mother was, whether she was working with Save the Whales, Heal the Bay, or getting Pierce involved in what she did.
