Bullock and Randall met when he was hired as the photographer at her son Louis' birthday in January 2015. Randall was a model-turned-photographer at the time.
The pair quickly realized they were meant to be in one another's lives. They later confirmed they were in a relationship, attending significant events together, and being affectionate toward one another in public.
In 1999, long before she met the man who she called the "love of [her] life," she said that it did not matter to her how much money a person made or how famous they were as long as they were reliable and loving toward her during even the most challenging times.

In 2016, a year after Bullock and Randall met, a source close to the actress said she was happier than ever. Randall became the loving father figure for Bullock's two adopted children, Louis and Laila. He was also the father to a little girl from a previous relationship.
Bullock shared that soon after they became a couple, she asked Randall if he had remembered the Non-disclosure agreement (NDA) he had signed before he photographed Louis' birthday party, and she reminded him that it still held as she would be bringing Laila home when she returned from a trip to Toronto.
While he was scared, he was fully supportive of Bullock and excited that she was welcoming a new child. Later, he photographed Bullock, Laila, and Louis for the cover of a publication introducing Bullock's latest addition.

The actress believed that even though she and Randall had differing views on things, he was a perfect example to her children, and she loved that he was there for them to give them a different perspective.
What Happened to Randall?
Bullock's happiness with Randall came to a tragic halt on August 5, 2023, when Randall passed away at 57. In a statement explaining what happened, Randall's family shared:
"It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request."

While he kept his illness secret from the public, he also hid it from those extremely close to him. His longtime friend, Mia St. John, has revealed that she was "blindsided" by his passing.
St. John said she had wondered where he had been for the past year as she had not heard from him, and even when she reached out, she didn't get a response. St. John thought this was strange but says it all makes sense now.
Recently, the last photos of Bullock and Randall have once again surfaced, and in them, Randall wears a dour expression, seemingly burdened by something. The latest pictures of Bullock and Randall together were taken in 2020.
