Inside Natalie Portman’s Former Vacation Home with State-of-the-Art Kitchen Purchased after Welcoming 2nd Child
- Natalie Portman welcomed her second child six years ago with her husband, Benjamin Millepied.
- After her second child's birth, the media wondered what the child's nursery would look like as the couple bought a new house ahead of her birth.
- Recently, many are wondering if Portman and her husband have split.
Natalie Portman is an Israeli-American actress famous for her roles in "Star Wars," "Black Swan," "No Strings Attached," and many others. While she has a busy career, she is also a loving mother to two children, a boy and a girl, and a wife to her children's father, Benjamin Millepied.
Portman's son, Aleph, was born first and was followed five years later by his younger sister, Amalia. Amalia arrived months before Portman purchased a stunning property.

In 2016, while Portman was still pregnant with Amalia, the media wondered if her pregnancy style hinted at how she would decorate her baby's nursery in her new home.
Portman preferred neutral clothing at the time, featuring "whimsical details." While she wore primarily black, white, gray, and navy, she often added pops of color in the form of butterflies, flowers, and birds.

By February 2017, Portman had given birth to her daughter. Vogue announced the baby's birth and congratulated Portman and Millepied on the arrival of their first daughter, explaining she could not attend the Oscars that year because she had just given birth to Amalia.
Portman and Millepied's Vacation Home
After she welcomed Amalia into the world, Portman and her husband bought a new home. The Montecito Mansion cost a whopping $6.5 million and featured stunning ocean views.
The home comprised four bedrooms and five bathrooms, spanning 3,991 square feet. It sat on ten acres of land, much larger than the family's primary residence in Los Feliz, Los Angeles.
The home was surrounded by greenery and finished with a sleek design. It featured a state-of-the-art kitchen and spa-like bathrooms. The property's indoor and outdoor spaces also featured cozy fireplaces and ample seating.
Almost every room in the house had a view of the ocean, including all four bedrooms, the patio, and the outdoor seating area. The pool area also overlooked the hillside and onto the ocean.
Barton Myers designed the home made of steel, glass, and concrete. The back of the house featured floor-to-ceiling windows, which offered an uninterrupted view of the outdoors.
Although the residence was a vacation home for Portman and her family, sources said that the crime in the area was very low, and the schools were highly rated, which would have made it the perfect place for the family to live permanently if they chose to.
While it was a quiet oasis for the star and her family to escape the hustle and bustle of the city they were used to, Portman sold the property in November last year for $8 million, almost $2 million more than the price she bought it.
Portman and Millepied's Marriage Is Under Scrutiny
Although the initial sale of her home in Montecito did not raise any alarm bells for fans, what has since transpired has left them wondering if there might be something more sinister behind Portman giving up her hillside mansion.

Portman and Millepied sold the home in an off-market deal last year, and since then, the pair have been said to be working through "marital struggles." A source claimed that Millepied had an affair, but it was brief and over now.
The source called Millepied's affair an "enormous mistake," but the couple are reportedly still together and working through the difficult time. The source added:
"Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy."

Despite Portman's efforts to keep everything under wraps, rumors have begun swirling about the couple's reported marriage struggles and what will happen next as they navigate this difficult time.
The last time Portman and Millepied were seen walking a red carpet together was in September last year, and Portman has since been seen walking red carpets alone. She has also been seen out without her wedding ring.
A source claimed that Millepied's extramarital affair with a 25-year-old last year caused the couple to separate for a while, but they are reportedly working together to mend their marriage.

The source mentioned that Millepied was doing everything in his power to get Portman to forgive him for the affair and get her to trust him again to continue their relationship.
As the actress walked around in Sydney last week, she was not wearing her engagement or wedding rings, concealing her hands inside the pockets of her denim jeans while she walked for much of the time.
Portman not wearing her rings comes months after her husband's affair became public, and there has been speculation as to whether the couple is still together after Portman ditched both the rings associated with her husband.

Since the news of the affair broke, there have been many conflicting reports regarding the state of Millepied and Portman's marriage, with some sources claiming the pair have called it quits and others saying they experienced a bump in the road but are now back on track.
While the couple was seen enjoying dinner together in May this year, they reportedly separated again after being estranged for a while. A source close to Portman shared:
"Natalie believes Benjamin's affair was a brief and stupid liaison that means nothing to him."

The source added that although the affair may have been brief, it did not cause Portman any less humiliation. However, she was allegedly willing to try again because she didn't want to raise her children in a broken home.
While there is much speculation about what may happen between Millepied and Portman in their marriage, neither of the pair has confirmed or denied the rumors which are swirling at present.
