Jake Gyllenhaal

Portman and Jake Gyllenhaal were first linked in 2002. However, their relationship did not hit the headlines until they were seen on a date in 2006. Their romance remained private until it ended on an undisclosed date.

During the 2011 Palm Springs Film Festival, the actor opened up about his romance with Portman, revealing that they first crossed paths at a Star Wars convention. He walked up to her during the event and asked the actress to sign his Queen Amidala doll.

He also joked that the Marvel star's veganism challenged their relationship. According to Pop Sugar, he quipped, "It does get hard when you're out to dinner with her."

Although their love story ended, Portman and Gyllenhaal remained good friends and collaborated in the 2009 movie "Brothers."

Andy Samberg

Portman's relationship with Andy Samberg started with a shared interest in filthy rap tunes, which Gyllenhaal revealed fascinated the actress. In 2006, Portman collaborated with Samberg to create "Natalie Raps" as she hosted "Saturday Night Live."

A year later, reports of the pair's romance surfaced on the internet. Although neither Portman nor Samberg confirmed their romance, he did share the story behind "Natalie Raps." He reportedly said:

"We were skeptical because we thought of her the same way everybody else did. She seems so sweet and innocent, and then she broke into some Lil' Kim song and started rapping verses for us, the filthiest lines I've heard."

Jude Law

Thanks to her work in the entertainment industry, Portman was romantically linked to Jude Law. The two Hollywood stars first collaborated in the Civil War drama "Cold Mountain." They worked together again in the film "Closer," where they played love interests.

The actress had no plans of getting married and claimed she did not need legalities to prove she was committed to her relationship.

However, their professional relationship only reportedly became romantic when they filmed their third project together, "My Blueberry Nights."

Portman and Law were seen having a deep conversation at the film's after-party, just a month after the "No Strings Attached" star was seen cozying up to Gael Garcia Bernal at Vanity Fair's Academy Awards after-party.

Although neither Portman nor Law revealed their actual score, an insider revealed that the "Sherlock Holmes" star was mesmerized by Portman's beauty and that they had a great working relationship. Their on-screen chemistry was also solid and undeniable.

Speaking about Portman when they co-starred in "Vox Lux," Law said they shared a unique bond on a personal level. He described Portman as someone he cared about with whom he had a "funny intimacy."

Law's praise for Portman did not stop there. During an interview with the two actors, Law complimented Portman, calling her an intelligent woman. He claimed that it was no surprise that people thought she could be an inventor due to her intelligence.

Nathan Bogle

In 2008, Portman dated a fashion designer, Nathan Bogle. At that time, the actress had no plans of getting married and claimed she did not need legalities to prove she was committed to her relationship.

She also said she was not pleased with how the government defined marriage. Although she was favorable of monogamy, she did not like the legal aspect of it, especially when it came to unequal rights for gay people.

Although their dating life remained private, news about their engagement and pregnancy made it to the press.

"Why are they making rules that say my lover can stay in the United States if they're foreign or share my health care benefits because I'm straight - but if you're gay, you can't have that?" she said.

Devendra Banhart

The same year, Portman entered a relationship with musician Devendra Banhart. After Banhart released his "Carmensita" music video, where Portman portrayed a Bollywood star, the duo began dating.

Portman and Banhart did not keep their relationship private and would walk the streets of New York City holding hands and locking lips. Although they discussed their relationship in interviews, their actions showed they were madly in love.

Unfortunately, their love story ended as quickly as it began. Later that year, Portman and Banhart called it quits, reportedly because she was a "free spirit" and "complicated" things.

Benjamin Millepied

The last man who captivated Portman's heart was Benjamin Millepied, the choreographer of "Black Swan." The pair crossed paths through the 2009 film, with Millepied assigned to train Portman in ballet.

While the dance lessons commenced, Portman and Millepied slowly fell for each other, and by the end of the film, they were a couple. Their relationship quickly escalated from boyfriend and girlfriend to expecting parents in a year.

Although their dating life remained private, news about their engagement and pregnancy made it to the press. The "Thor" star also revealed that she was grateful and happy to be expecting a child with her then-fiance.

Their son, Aleph, was born when they married at a coastal California wedding. The Jewish celebration saw Portman in a gorgeous Rodarte bridal gown, exchanging vows beneath a twiggy chuppah. The wedding ceremony ended with Millepied smashing a glass to the ground while yelling, "Mazel Tov!"

In 2014, Portman's little family moved to Paris after her husband landed a job as Paris Opera Ballet's director. "New York is more where art is bought than where art is made. When Ben asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, I freaked," Portman said. "Everyone dreams of living in Paris."

The couple has been supportive of each other's careers and pursuits in life. In 2022, they celebrated a milestone in their relationship as they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.

Two years later, the couple moved back to the United States and announced their pregnancy with their second child. On February 22, 2017, the pair welcomed their daughter, Amalia.

Throughout their years together, Portman and Millepied have navigated through marriage and parenthood well. According to the professional dancer, he and his wife always find time to organize their schedules and be happy amidst busy days.

They have also bonded over work after collaborating in "Vox Lux," where Portman took a lead role and Millepied choreographed the film's dance routines. She said:

"It was really fun because I think he knows me so well and what my strengths and weaknesses are in dancing that he was really able to create choreography very seamlessly and quickly because we had very little time."
