Dave Coulier Shares John Stamos' Nickname from Their Time Together in 'Full House'
Dave Coulier has revealed the secret behind the nickname he used to refer to his fellow actor John Stamos during the filming of "Full House." In a video posted on his Instagram, Coulier disclosed the story behind the moniker's creation.
"Full House" star Dave Coulier recently took to Instagram to reveal the nickname he playfully used to call his co-star John Stamos while they worked together on the set of "Full House."
He began the video by saying, "Okay, it's time for a 'Full House,' fun fact." Coulier then went on to explain, "Back when we were shooting the original episodes of 'Full House,' before the show, John Stamos would be in hair and makeup, and we'd be goofing, and he used to put this thick stuff in his hair, and I said, you know your hair is so great."
Continuing his story, Coulier explained that he would tell Stamos that he didn't even have to apply the substance on his hair, jokingly suggesting that Stamos could use mud on his hair, and it would still maintain its impressive appearance.
Dave Coulier then recounted, "So I started calling him mud, and the nickname stuck. So, the rest of the cast all started calling John, mud. I think we were the only ones who ever called him mud." Coulier then looked at the camera while addressing Stamos directly; he inquired, "Hey Mud, if you see this how's your hair?" before concluding the video.
Dave Coulier and Stamos have maintained a close friendship after the show ended. Stamos even attended Coulier's wedding in 2014, when he tied the knot with his wife Melissa Bring.
During the ceremony, Stamos had an opportunity to speak. While delivering his speech, he became emotional and expressed that Coulier and his wife's relationship inspired many and wished that others would be as fortunate as the two of them. Other "Full House" co-stars at the wedding included Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and the late Bob Saget.
In 2018 when Stamos welcomed his son, Coulier couldn't hide his excitement. He recalled that Stamos had been discussing his desire to become a father for as long as they had known each other. Coulier then expressed his happiness for Stamos, adding that Stamos would be a great dad.
