The couple discovered the wife had a terminal disease and was only expected to live for a maximum of nine months. The poster confessed that he was devastated and couldn't imagine a life without her.

He also struggled with what to do when she was gone but did his best to make her last days alive good. The Reddit user wanted to grant his wife anything she wished as doctors said, in four to five months, she would require a wheelchair.

By the eighth month, she was expected to be bedridden as she progressed through the last weeks of her life. The worst-case scenario was that she could decline quicker.
