Over the weekend, news broke that a ruling has been made regarding the dispute over Lisa Marie Presley's estate. Riley Keough was acknowledged as the sole trustee, as her late mother intended.

Riley's grandmother Priscilla Presley had questioned the authenticity and validity of an amendment in Lisa Marie's living trust in 2016 in a petition she filed four days after her daughter's moving memorial at Graceland.

The amendment removed Priscilla and her daughter's former business manager Barry Siegel from the trust. The control of the assets that reportedly brought in $110 million in 2022 was left solely to Riley and her brother Benjamin Keough, who died in 2020.

Priscilla and her daughter allegedly fell out when the "Dallas" star took her ex-son-in-law's side in the contentious custody battle between Lisa Marie and Michael Lockwood. Michael was her fourth husband and father of her twins, Finley and Harper Lockwood.

Under the guise of escorting the twins, Michael flew with Priscilla to attend the memorial in January after Lisa Marie's unexpected passing earlier that month. According to a source, the singer would not have wanted her ex at the event, and he was not invited.

Riley always took her mother's side in the custody battle that was only resolved last year. A member of the Presley family inner circle said of the tension between granddaughter and grandmother:

On Friday, August 4, 2023, a Los Angeles court ruled in favor of Riley's settlement negotiated with Priscilla and Michael. She will also preside over her younger half-siblings' sub-trusts. Judge Lynn H. Scaduto wrote:

"The settlement is in the best interests of minors Harper Lockwood and Finley Lockwood…"

As Priscilla had, Riley is not charging a fee to manage the trust. The Presley matriarch is said to stay on with the trust as a special adviser and has been granted dispensation to one day be busied on the estate with Elvis Presley and her grandson Benjamin.

With a hefty inheritance tax levied against Graceland in the early 1980s, Priscilla had turned the trust's fortunes around when she turned the iconic property into a tourist attraction. The "Zola" actress now owns Graceland, which was left to her mother by Elvis.
