Bride Kicks Her Friend Out from Bridal Party for Her Haircut – The Friend Sues & Wins the Case
- A woman kicked her friend out of her bridal party after she decided to cut her hair.
- The friend had already spent over $700 on dresses, shoes, and accessories for the wedding by the time she needed to cut her hair due to hair loss.
- The bride angrily told the friend she'd no longer be part of the bridal party, as she'd apparently ruined the bride's vision for her special day.
A woman's wedding day is often one they've dreamed of since childhood. They've envisioned time and time again how they'd like the special day to play out.
One woman planned out every detail of her wedding – an event that she planned to take place over three days. She wanted her entourage to look a certain way and asked them to buy three dresses, wear the same shoes, and even sport similar hairstyles each day.

Months before the wedding, one of the bridesmaids suffered serious hair loss. She tried everything to remedy the situation, but by May, she decided to cut her hair.
Two weeks before the wedding, she informed the bride of her decision to cut her hair. After seeing each other in person a week later, the bride brought up some concerns, but ultimately let it pass.
The very next day, however, the bridesmaid received a lengthy message in which the bride brought up her concerns. She worried whether it'd still look good, as it wouldn't be uniform with the other bridesmaids.

The bride's message elaborated on her boundaries, saying the bridesmaid should have let her know about her condition sooner so they could find an alternative solution.
The friend was stunned by how tone-deaf and selfish the bride was being when she said, "I've been very accommodating and graceful, but I can't allow you to disrespect me. As you know, my wedding has been something I've dreamt of for many years."

The bride said that since the day she asked her friend to be a bridesmaid, she made her requests clear. She ranted that her friend's decision to cut her hair and not inform her in advance was upsetting.
The bride went on to say that although she didn't downplay her friend's health concerns, she would have felt respected if she had been informed in advance. "Since this something you can no longer fully commit to, I need you to please step down from participating in my wedding," she concluded.
The friend couldn't believe what she'd just read. It was sent only three days before the wedding. She responded angrily by sending the bride and groom an invoice for everything she had paid for.

When neither the bride nor groom replied, the bridesmaid took them to court. The woman was done at this point – she spent months trying to help her friend plan her wedding, only to be called selfish and inconsistent.
It took forever for the court case to get going. In December 2021, she finally got a confirmation from the court that a date had been set for their hearing on February 7, 2022.
The virtual hearing took place without lawyers; since it was the Small Claims Court, they needed to represent themselves. The woman prepared heavily for it. She made a virtual file which she shared with the court and her ex-friend a week before the hearing. On the day of the hearing, her friend showed up. The court asked if they were willing to settle, but to no avail.

The court asked both sides to share their sides, and to the woman's surprise, her ex-friend had copied the format she had made for presenting evidence. "She didn't even have the decency (or brain cells) to make something up herself," she slammed.
After both sides shared their evidence, the judge adjourned the meeting. They would not provide a verdict immediately and said it could take up to 90 days. Finally, the woman received her answer a few days short of 90 days. She won the case against her ex-friend! The court ordered the bride to pay her $808.94 for everything she spent on the wedding.
In turn, the woman needed to return her two dresses and shoes to the bride. The woman didn't want it to be this way, but she was relieved it happened. She wanted closure from the traumatic experience, and she finally got it. She assured people on the internet that her health was improving and that the hair on her three bald spots was growing again.

Online users reacted to the woman and her ex-friend's incident. A user said, "NTA. Should have had the lawsuit served to her at the altar. 🔥." Another user concurred, "I just can't get past that her hair was falling out because of a health condition and Zilla is like, Don't care if you die, you are selfish for cutting your hair. What in the actual duck!"
A third commenter wrote, "What a horrible, heartless friend she is. You've done your absolute best to be involved with her wedding/bridal shower, and helping her so much in addition to paying hundreds for your dresses etc. and she kicks you out because of your hair?"
The commenter added, "For which you have an extremely valid reason for cutting! And even if you didn't, it'd still be absolutely ridiculous for her to do and say all this. I'm baffled. I can only imagine how you're feeling. All the best to you!"
"I'm super glad for you. In the first place, you had to cut your hair because of health reasons, and your "friend" was more conserned about the vision of her perfect wedding than your health," a Redditor chimed in.
The Redditor had more to say, "I'm sure there could have been something done, like hair extensions or a wig, if you had agreed to that. Instead she just kicked you out. It's only right you got reimbursed for all that money."
More online users weighed in. One said, "What an utter lack of compassion" while another agreed, "and a healthy narc outlook." "For real. Anyone that would take a wedding this seriously is a deluded ego maniac," noted one more user.
A Redditor commented on the matter, "Also she sees her wedding as a "vision." Lol. The delusion." " A Redditor who agreed with this statement added, "I've always wondered if this kind of person doesn't realize that what they'll remember most about their wedding when they see the pictures is the friend that's no longer there and there and the ugliness that ended that friendship. The minute they do something like this the "vision" is destroyed."
Yet another person advised the woman in case her ex-friend doesn't obey the court order, "You can do a number of things- liens on assets (homes, cars, etc.), wage garnishment, bank account seizure (to withdraw the money for the debt.) If it gets bad enough (and she ignores the court's order), a warrant will be written up and served on her."
