Paris Jackson, the daughter of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, took to Instagram to share how her father's birthday has brought her many mean comments.
In a video she posted on Michael's birthday, on August 29, Paris filmed herself right after a performance and explained how her father felt about celebrating birthdays.
She said he never liked them and even preferred for no one to know his date of birth to avoid being thrown a party. Knowing this, Paris has sometimes chosen not to post a tribute on her father's birthday.

The singer shared a short clip of her wishing the King of Pop a happy birthday on stage. She said it was because of her father's hard work that she is able to perform in front of a crowd. "He would have been 65 years old today," she added.
Paris continued to praise Michael for his dedication to his craft and contribution to the music industry. Towards the end of the video, she gave fans tips on how to honor him.

As a person who was not a fan of birthdays, Paris suggested that fans use his birthday as an opportunity to raise awareness about climate change, do things for the environment, and get involved in animal rights activism because these were things Michael was passionate about.
To end it off, the singer left a message for those who quantified her father's love with a social media post. "Please don’t use a man you have never met as an excuse to abuse, manipulate, and harass his daughter (who you also have never met)," she expressed.

Although the service was televised, the Jackson family reportedly did not want the ceremony to feel scripted but wanted it to feel like a real memorial service.
The music was curated, but the speeches were all from the heart, said Ken Ehrlich, producer of the tribute. One tribute that was not planned was from Paris, who was only eleven years old when her father died.

The then eleven-year-old bravely stood before the mic and tried to hold back tears. As she struggled to get her words out, she said, "Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just want to say that I love him so much."
