Man Gets Dumped by Fiancée after His Cancer Diagnosis, Sees Her ‘Destitute’ and in a Wheelchair Years Later

After being diagnosed with cancer and finding his fiancée sleeping with someone she told him was her lifelong friend, a man got his revenge on the woman by telling her something she had once told him.

A man diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment was shocked when his fiancée broke up with him, citing his illness as the issue in their relationship. However, the tables quickly turned.

The man and his fiancée had been together for four years and planned to build their lives together. The man had a 16-year-old daughter, and his fiancée had an 11-year-old daughter, but they lived separately.

Although they did not share a home, they worked towards it by planning to build one and raise their daughters there. The man's fiancée had been diagnosed with a neurological disease, which would lead to her being in a wheelchair, and the couple was planning their home around that. However, they never got to live together.

Why Did the Couple Break Up?

As the couple planned to move in together, the man did landscaping and renovation projects on his fiancée's home to increase its resale value. He invoiced her for all his work but did not pressure her for payment, understanding that her illness was taking a toll on her.

The man revealed that by the time he had completed all the projects on her home, he estimated to have invested roughly $30,000 but never asked his fiancée about the money, trusting that she would pay him when she could.

Six months later, his world was rocked when he fell ill. The man felt constantly nauseous and passed blood as he noticed his bloated abdomen. Being a fit man with a healthy diet, he knew something was wrong.

The man went to the doctor, and after undergoing many tests and a biopsy, the doctor told him he had a golf ball-sized tumor in his abdomen and would need chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

While that was happening, the man's fiancée began having some cognitive issues, which were made worse by her position in her company. She was demoted to a more manageable status but took a $20,000 pay cut.

Because of everything that had happened, the man suggested that he and his fiancée move in together and put one of their houses on the market. However, his fiancée became distant, her daughter stopped spending time with him, and she stopped driving him to his treatments.

The man was confused by this behavior, and it was not until she "dropped a bomb" on him that he understood why she had become distant. She broke up with him over text, saying:

"I love you, but I can't see myself taking care of someone this sick in the long term, and I don't think we should see each other any longer."

Although heartbroken by the breakup, the man calmly packed his fiancée's things and transported them back to her house while she was at work so they would not have to see each other.

The man arrived at her house in his truck, unloaded the box, and then took it to the woman's back porch to set it down for her to find later. However, he saw something he didn't expect.

As he set the box of her belongings down, he saw her in her back living room through the window. She was sleeping with a man who she had told the man was a lifelong friend of hers. The man revealed they were friendly with this man and his partner and had even been on vacation with them.

A few months later, the man found out that his wife's lover and his girlfriend had broken up because he had confessed to the affair. The man was horrified and knew it was time to get his revenge.

The man had finished his chemo and radiation treatments and was feeling much better when he was going through some paperwork. He found the unpaid bills from his work in the woman's house.

He sent the unpaid invoices to his attorney, which he said, coupled with the interest accumulated over 19 months, was a hefty bill. He said by the time she had paid all of that, along with attorneys fees and the sale of her house, she would be left with only $10 thousand.

With the debts she had incurred, the woman was forced to back out of the home she was going to buy and instead move in with her eldest daughter, sister-in-law, and two grandchildren because of the fees she had to pay. The man admitted he had left her "destitute," but that did not stop her from contacting him.

What Happened Next?

Sometime after the debacle, the man ran into the woman and confessed she looked like she had aged 20 years. She was also in a wheelchair as they expected when they were still together.

The man talked to her briefly and politely, but quickly, excused himself. A few days later, her daughter contacted him and asked if they could see one another. He disagreed but thanked her for calling.

Then the man's ex began to call him frequently for weeks, asking to get back together. In response, the man got his final revenge by telling her:

"I can't see myself taking care of someone so sick in the long term. Remember the box on your back porch? Did you think that (life-long friend) brought that over to you from my house? Good luck to you. Goodbye."
