Since its premiere in 2021, "The Equalizer" has become a fan-favorite action series. The show follows a mysterious yet highly skilled woman, Robyn McCall, and her mission as The Equalizer.

McCall is known to many as a mother singlehandedly raising her teen daughter. However, her alter ego is a former CIA operative and defender of those who need help when they have nowhere else to go.

"The Equalizer" stars Queen Latifah as its lead and titular character. A stellar cast joins her, including Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira, Laya DeLeon Hayes, and Lorraine Toussaint.

Latifah's outstanding performance on the show earned her two consecutive NAACP nominations for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series and two consecutive Critics Choice Super Award nominations for Best Actress in an Action Series, among many others.

The show also received a People's Choice Awards nomination for Dema Show of 2021 and a ReFrame Stamp for IMDbPro Top 200 Most Popular TV Titles from 2020 to 2021.

'The Equalizer' Season 4

In 2020, "The Equalizer" was renewed for two more seasons, allowing avid television viewers to enjoy their favorite show every Sunday night. CBS Entertainment's Senior Executive VP Programming Thom Sherman said:

"The success of The Equalizer is due to the sum of its parts — an outstanding cast led by the superb Queen Latifah, plus the exceptional creative team that has continued to evolve their storytelling."

Season 4 is expected to feature the same series regulars, including DeLeon Hayes, Toussaint, Kittles, and Goldberg. Of course, it will star the show's lead, Latifah. Meanwhile, the plot for the new season is kept under wraps. However, it will likely carry over Season 3's season finale.

'The Equalizer' Season Finale Explained

In Season 3, Robyn and her group found themselves the target of attackers, organized by the same Venezuelan people who betrayed her and her team during her CIA days. The attackers tried to inject a substance into Robyn's neck, which was later revealed to be a self-destructing serum that would make Robyn die in 90 minutes.

There is no exact release date for "The Equalizer" Season 4 as it has been delayed due to the writers and actors' strike.

Although not injected, Robyn's friend, Dante (Kittles), had been successfully induced. Robyn's team then tries to find an antidote while figuring out why they are being attacked. The Venezuelan ended up taking Robyn, and as it turned out, her former best friend, Michelle, had been plotting the entire thing.

'The Equalizer' Season 4 Release Date

There is no exact release date for "The Equalizer" Season 4 as it has been delayed due to the writers and actors' strike. Since May 2, 2023, the Writers Guild of America has been on strike, following the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists on July 14, 2023.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers recently proposed an agreement with the writers union, which may lead to new contracts. Should a deal with both parties ensue, writers would likely resume their work, and shows would continue airing.

Unfortunately, the writers' strike affected many well-loved television shows, whether directly or indirectly, including "Only Murders in the Building" and "Severance."
