Dion and René-Charles have an endearing bond. After his dad tragically passed away in 2016 (prompting René-Charles' tearjerking eulogy), she informed him that there was no pressure for him to feel as though he had to step up to be the man of the house.

Instead, she wanted him to focus on pursuing his own dreams and continued to support him in his endeavors. In 2018, when René-Charles was 17, those endeavors saw him pursue rap music.
