Fans Pray for Celine Dion after Sister Gives Update about Her Health: ‘There’s Little We Can Do'
- Fans of iconic Canadian singer Celine Dion send prayers to the star after her sister provided an update about her health.
- The singer's sister said, "There's little we can do...to alleviate her pain."
- Celine's family supports her as best as they can amid her illness.
Famous Canadian singer Celine Dion, 55, known for her incredible vocal prowess, is reportedly doing all she can to fight against her stiff person syndrome symptoms. Last year, the "My Heart Will Go On" artist announced that she had been diagnosed with the rare health ailment that rendered her unable to continue with her world tour.
Recently, her sister, Claudette Dion, opened up about the status of Celine's health. She gave some updates concerning Celine's condition and said the singer is staying strong.

While sitting down for an interview to discuss how Celine is coping with her symptoms, Claudette indicated that she is working hard to regain her strength. However, the musician's sister disclosed:
"It's an illness we know so little about. There are spasms — they're impossible to control...There's little we can do to support her, to alleviate her pain."
The neurological disorder typically causes the uncontrollable tension of muscles, locking the body into states of rigidity. In some cases, the person diagnosed with the ailment is unable to talk or walk.

Despite the disease having no cure, sources say that there are medical interventions that can help slow symptom progression down. Additionally, despite not yet finding medicine that works for Celine's case, Claudette and her supportive family remain hopeful that scientists and researchers will eventually find a remedy.
Much like Celine's family, her die-hard fans hold onto hope that their beloved musician will recover. Many of her fans sent her prayers and well-wishes:
"Praying for a recovery for Celine. I saw her yrs ago in Vegas. What a beautiful show I cried..she is awesome !!!"

Celine Dion Canceled Her World Tour as a Result of Her Illness
Fans who pray the star makes a recovery also miss seeing her perform on stage. Earlier this year, Celine announced that she canceled all her "Courage" world tour 2023 and 2024 dates. A statement she posted to her Instagram detailed:
"...I'm so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I'm working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you're 100%...it's best that we cancel everything now until I'm really ready to be back on stage again..."

Prior to her Instagram announcement, Celine announced the postponement of the remaining shows before she canceled them altogether. In an emotional video she posted to YouTube, the "All by Myself" singer sorrowfully revealed her diagnosis and explained that the show postponements followed as a result. While tearfully reflecting on how difficult it has been for her to face her health's reality, Celine confessed:
"...unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to."
Some months after Celine released the YouTube video, her sister Claudette gave insight into what rehabilitation looked like for the singer. At the time, another sister of theirs, Linda Dion, had moved in with Celine to help take care of her.
