Zachary Raphael Cohn Is an Athlete

Zachary graduated from Brewster Academy and joined Fisher College, where he became committed to playing basketball. He joined Field Level in April 2022, a platform that allows coaches, athletes, and teams to connect to build relationships and find opportunities to reach great heights.

Zachary, the firstborn son of Elizabeth Vargas, was born in January. This year, he celebrated his 20th birthday, and his mother expressed her love and affection for him on her Instagram page. She posted a picture of Zachary and penned a heartfelt message that read:

"He is officially 20!!! How did that happen? Happiest of birthdays to my firstborn. I love you so much ❤️🎂🎁😘#proudmom."

Elizabeth said she prevents Zachary and his brother, Samuel Wyatt Cohn, from playing video games by engaging them in outdoor activities.

Elizabeth's son, Zachary, has established a presence on social media. He has an Instagram account with 1080 followers and nine posts at the time of this writing. Most of his content centers around his passion for basketball, occasionally offering insights into his daily life.

Zachary Raphael Cohn Was Raised by a Single Mom

In 2021, Zachary Raphael Cohn embarked on his journey to boarding school, and his mother took to Facebook to convey her immense pride in him for reaching this significant milestone.

She shared a photo of her and Zachary, and alongside it, she wrote, "Today was the day I had been dreading - dropping off my firstborn to boarding school. I cannot believe he is leaving…and yet I am so excited for everything in store in the next new chapter of Zachary's life." She continued:

"I am incredibly proud of him…cannot wait to see what you do with 'this one wild and precious life.' (My favorite Poem)"

Zachary's mother gained fame through her highly successful journalism career. But despite the fame, she said her children are her number one priority. Despite the demands of her career, she manages to allocate quality time to be with her two children.

Elizabeth said she prevents Zachary and his brother, Samuel Wyatt Cohn, from playing video games by engaging them in outdoor activities. Being a sporty family, she said they have learned to do activities such as surfing, skiing, playing tennis, or basketball.

Elizabeth, who hosted ABC's "World News Tonight" for nearly two decades, said she was fortunate to have a long career in a highly competitive industry. She considers herself lucky as a single working mother, as she genuinely loves her job and recognizes how it enables her to provide for her two children.

Elizabeth, who recovered from alcoholism, once talked about how her alcohol addiction affected her children. The veteran journalist revealed that there were moments when she would use Altoids not to smell alcohol when she greeted her children.

In one distressing incident, she recounted how her ex-husband had to dial 911 when she became unconscious, and their children were upstairs, unaware of the unfolding crisis. Elizabeth is among other female journalists with successful careers including Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, among others.
