Mom of 5 Divorces Husband Who Refuses to Help Clean Their Home While She Works Long Hours

After working six ten-hour shifts a week, with her only day off being a sick day, one woman knew that her husband was not the right person for her because of how he handled their home while she was gone.

Lynalice Brandy worked hard to provide for her children and maintain a clean household. Unfortunately, Bandy's husband was less than involved in household upkeep.

Bandy shared her experience on TikTok, with videos that have since gone viral, and she has received much support from strangers who empathize with her or have experienced something similar.

Since her first video went viral, Bandy has made some difficult decisions about her life but has tried to remain positive through each trial she faces and be a good mother to her five children.

What Happened to Bandy?

In Bandy's first viral video in April 2022, she explained that she was trying to clean her disheveled home so she had time to focus on her homework that weekend. She methodically went through a room that needed major cleaning.

With each new cleaning phase, Bandy explained what was happening in her life. She revealed she cannot ask her husband for help as he tells her he has "bigger fish to fry," so she is left to solely take on the upkeep of their house for their five children.

While her children slept, Bandy was a Doordash driver, allowing her to bring in some money to pay the family's bills. Although this left Bandy with only four hours of sleep at night, she managed to maintain her 4.0 grade average for her studies. She shared:

"I just keep reminding myself that everything is a season, and eventually, all seasons will end."

By the end of the video, Bandy showed an entirely transformed room and wished her viewers a lovely day. A few months later, she posted another video showing that nothing had changed for her.

In August 2022, Bandy once again talked about her untidy home and her soon-to-be ex-husband's lack of help around their home. She had worked six ten-hour days, with her only day off being a sick day.

Although she said she would like to pretend she wasn't the only person who cleaned their home, it was clear that her home had become untidy while she was away, and her children's father did not care.

In the video, Bandy moved from room to room, cleaning up the messes accumulated while she was gone. There was hair, food, nail polish, shampoo all over the floors, and other items like toys and clothing.

She explained that the children's father said he couldn't focus on his children while focusing on his schooling. However, she said that he was on summer break and no longer had that excuse, yet he remained in the garage working on four cars instead of watching his children.

What Did Bandy Do?

Bandy explained that her husband had become obsessed with working on the cars to the point where he had brought car parts into their dining room and left oil everywhere as he wanted to watch the children while he worked on them.

When Bandy asked why he couldn't stop working on the cars for a while, he told her that wasn't an option. She lamented:

"I wish so much that the housing economy wasn't what it was here and I could afford to move out."

She admitted that it hurt her that she couldn't live somewhere she felt safe and happy. Her viewers quickly comforted her with words of love and support, telling her she was doing a fantastic job and should be proud of herself.

By August 2023, Bandy confirmed that she had divorced her husband and was trying to go back to nursing school before finishing school to become a social worker. She also said she was trying to keep a clean house at the same time.

Her viewers again flooded her comments section with words of love and support, telling her how amazing and strong she was for doing everything for herself and her children despite difficult circumstances.
