Ritter's wife noted that it has been 20 years since her husband's death. Yasbeck's fans rallied behind her in the comment section, with one person replying to her wedding anniversary post noting how she and Ritter had been the perfect couple who were "so in love" and happy before adding:

On September 11, 2003, Ritter started having severe nausea and vomiting while on the "8 Simple Rules" set before being rushed to St. Joseph's close by. In 2008, Yasbeck recalled that tests were done, and that's when a doctor came to tell her that her husband had an aortic dissection, a condition she'd never heard of.

Sadly, the "Three's Company" star died suddenly hours later on the same day from an undetected aortic dissection. Ritter's widow was left behind to be a single parent to their child and became a grandmother years later.
What Happened to Amy after Losing John?
In 1990, Ritter and Yasbeck met while on a table read for "Problem Child." The pair bonded quickly over their love of comedy and watched old films together, with him teaching her things like how to take a fake punch. In 1999, they got married.
When his death happened at age 54, the Emmy Award-winning actor already had four children. With Nancy Morgan, his first wife, he welcomed Jason, Carly, and Tyler, and with Yasbeck he shared Noah.
In 2023, all four are adults, and most of them continue his legacy by following in his career footsteps by getting into the entertainment industry. Years later, the late star's children made his widow a grandmother, with Yasbeck sharing an Instagram image of her holding one of them in 2018.
In 2020, Tyler uploaded a video of him bonding with Ritter's grandson in an Instagram photo. The late celebrity's wife keeps his memory alive by spearheading The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health, which brings awareness about the condition that took her husband.
In 2021, Yasbeck urged people to become a "#AortaSupporta" to help "prevent unnecessary suffering." During a 2022 interview, the actress admitted that she misses Ritter "as a partner" and revealed she wasn't dating.
