Someone Steals Food from a New Mom at Work So She Sets a Trap for the Thief

A woman noticed her office snacks were missing, but for a long time, she blamed it on her lack of sleep until she set up a hidden camera and found who had been eating her food all along.

A woman shared a story of how she conquered a food thief at her office. To start, she explained that she had just returned from maternity leave and was still breastfeeding, which caused her to eat a lot.

But since she was a new mother of two, she barely had time to make lunch, and when she did, she was lucky to remember it. Knowing this, the mother always ensured she had a full snack drawer at work to keep her going.

Besides constantly being hungry from breastfeeding, she also had a lot of food allergies, so her snacks were very specific and contained different allergens. This meant they did not always taste good but cost more than regular snacks.

When she returned from maternity leave, she was not getting enough sleep as she was still trying to balance a new baby and getting back to work. But she wanted to fill up her snack drawer with all the good snacks, "I'm not getting a lot of sleep right now. I deserve nice things." she reiterated.

After assembling her new snacks, she realized that some would finish quicker than usual, some would go missing, or she would find things misplaced. But since she was not getting enough sleep, she thought she might have eaten them and forgotten, but with how often it was happening, the mother was starting to believe she was losing her mind.

Once, she had brought a packet of chips to work, and before she left, she neatly folded it and clipped it, but when she came back, she found it re-folded. Again, she blamed it on her lack of sleep.

But then she caught the flu and had to be off work for a week. This time, she knew exactly how much of the snacks she had eaten and stuff that had not been opened.

There had been a box of cookies that she had eaten one row of, but when the mother came to work, she found one cookie left. The person eating her snacks also decided to open a fresh packet of candy on her behalf.

The woman reported the theft to her boss, who said he would ask for the security cameras to be checked. However, the mother did not feel the issue was taken seriously, so she ordered a nanny camera from Amazon to resolve it herself.

The woman installed the nanny camera and set up an assortment of snacks for the culprit, and they did not prove her wrong because she found the snacks opened and misplaced yet again. The thief even ate her Valentine's Day chocolates.

It was finally time for her to watch back the footage from her hidden camera, and after multiple shadows passed, she saw the janitor arrive for his night shift. She caught him red-handed and saw him take a 12-minute break in her office and help himself to her snacks.

The woman took screenshots of him redhanded, eating her candy and picking out his favorite snacks from her collection. She then took the evidence to her boss, who spoke to the cleaning service company to speak to the janitor.

Although she did not get in trouble for installing a hidden camera, she was told to keep it at home. But after the news started spreading at the office, and the woman had many people come up to her and thank her for finding the person behind the snack theft.

One lady from the concession store said he would always ask for free coffee just as she was about to close up, and another woman said her encounters with the janitor always felt uncomfortable.
