Alyssa Milano is a proud mother whose journey to motherhood has not been easy. Nevertheless, she is grateful for those tough times because they prepared her for something rewarding.
Milano welcomed her only son, Milo, with her husband, talent agent David Bugliari. However, before his arrival, she experienced a pregnancy loss. In her book, "Sorry Not Sorry," the activist divulged how she and her spouse tried for a baby. The couple married in August 2009 and immediately started working on starting a family.

"The very first time we had sex after 'pulling the goalie,' I got pregnant. And then, at the age of thirty –eight, I miscarried," Milano revealed in her book, adding:
"I was completely crushed. Devastated. I remember going to the doctor and trying unsuccessfully to find a heartbeat."

The Hollywood star recalled sitting with her spouse in the parking lot after the appointment and crying while holding each other. At that moment, Bugliari looked into his wife's eyes and consoled her by saying they would have another child. "A better baby," he assured, adding, "That baby was a Red Sox fan."

Milano remembered forgetting her pain after her husband's comment and found herself laughing at what he said. "Three months later, we were pregnant with Milo," she disclosed. The former singer announced the news on Twitter on February 22, 2011, writing, "Yes, it's true. And we couldn't be happier."
That same month, Milano, who starred alongside Shannen Doherty in "Charmed," spoke frankly about her pregnancy journey in an interview, revealing she did not want to be apart from her mom after falling pregnant.
She spent much time with her parents to "soak up their brains." At the time, Milano and Bugliari had not discovered the gender of their baby, and she stated they would announce it after finding out.

The producer expressed relief that she made it out of her first trimester and acknowledged that it was the stage she worried about because she would always think at the back of her mind that she would lose the baby. "So, I would say that was my scariest time," the star admitted.
At six months pregnant, Milano enjoyed being pregnant so much that she teased in a May 2011 interview that she would have more kids in the future because she loved being pregnant.

At that point, she already knew she was having a boy and divulged she and Bugliari had already chosen "five names" which they would only decide on once the baby was born. Milano explained, "We hear so many nightmare stories about people that have that name set and then they see the baby!"
The couple's son Milo was born in 2011. In a February 2016 interview, the doting mom spoke candidly about being a first-time parent and the experience of holding her child for the first time after giving birth to him:
"I was like, 'Oh, this is it! This is what life is. Even though I had a really full beautiful life beforehand, my life really began the day he was born."

Milano Is a Mother of Two – Inside Her Life with Her Husband & Kids
Milano became a mom again when she and Bugliari welcomed their second child, daughter Elizabella, in 2014. A year later, in August 2015, the proud parent shared that she wanted to expand her family. However, she acknowledged that her biological clock was an obstacle because she was 42 by then.

Meanwhile, having two young children at home has not deterred Milano and Bugliari from spicing up their romance. In an April 2019 interview, the actress discussed what she and her love do to keep the romance alive in their marriage. The "Who's the Boss?" alum divulged that they "make an effort" to spend time together, making for a "happy marriage."
The mother of two also talked about their kids and revealed both son and daughter inherited their "traits." Their eldest child, Milo, is "strong" and "organized," while their youngest, Elizabella, is sympathetic and kind-hearted.
Milano said all she had done in her life until that point was for her children. In hindsight, she realizes all the devastation and challenges she has been through were to prepare her for motherhood – to empathize with others.
