The 42-year-old revealed that after welcoming their son, Jordan was very supportive and that she had depended on him for most of her life. The two met when she was 21 and married when she was 24. "At the time, it felt absolutely right. Jordan and I were best friends first, and then it grew to be more," she said.
However, since they met so early in their lives, the time the "Hurt" singer spent apart from her then-husband gave her the independence she never experienced. So when she returned home from filming, things did not feel right anymore.

The public had already started speculating that they did not look happy, so when Christina opened up about the divorce, she confirmed what had already been evident to her fans. She and Jordan tried to make their union work for their son, but Christina, who watched the tension between her divorced parents unravel, knew it would not be healthy for Max.
Therefore, the former couple quickly realized they wanted different things and had evolved into different versions of themselves. "I knew Max would benefit from us separating. He'd be happier to see both his parents happy," she explained.

Balancing Singing and Motherhood
Christina has been slowly returning to touring after she took ten years off because of her children. She confessed that she feared leaving her children and did not know how she would create a structure for them while on the road and dealing with different time zones.
However, as her children get older, she gets to share some of her favorite childhood activities with them, like playing games on the Nintendo. Christina had the opportunity to work with the company and gushed over how fun it has been to share her love for games with her children.
The singer revealed that she was raised on Nintendo, so to share the experience with her children has been amazing. "What I love about this game is that you can all play together, so it was me, my daughter, and my son, and he's 13; she just turned seven," she gushed over her game.
But aside from fulfilling childhood dreams with her Nintendo game, the singer is also getting back into the studio. She plans on tapping deeper into herself for her next album by creating a Spanish record. "I'm definitely diving into my past, singing and writing from a perspective of making peace with certain things from my childhood," she said about the album.
Aside from being busy again, Christina shared glimpses of her work-life balance on Instagram, and fans see her life as a performer and full-time mother to her two children.
