Why Did Ryan Take a Break From Hollywood?

Before Ryan appeared in "What Happens Later," she took an eight-year break from Hollywood. Talking about why she decided to do this, she said:

"I took a giant break because I felt like there's just so many other parts of my experience as a human being I wanted to develop."

She said she wanted to think of acting as a job, not a lifestyle, which allowed her to take a step back. The actress enjoys focusing on herself and her mental and physical well-being.

Ryan does this by practicing something called the turnout, which is a two-hour slot in which she does things that help her imagine what she wants her day and her life to be like going forward. She practices this every day to help her feel more centered.
