Fans Are in Awe of Al Roker’s 4-Month-Old Granddaughter: ‘Looks Just like Her Mom’

Beloved "Today" anchor and weatherman Al Roker, 69, has undergone a lot of changes in his life recently. He endured a health scare that saw him enter a hospital at the end of last year, and a couple of months after that, this year, he became a grandfather.

In a post published on his social media account, the 69-year-old explained that he had been absent on-screen due to being hospitalized from a blood clot discovered in his leg. The leg clot caused other clots to form in his lungs.

Thankfully, Al was able to combat his health woes, thanks to the tremendous medical care he received and the support and care of his loving wife, Deborah Roberts. He made his anticipated return to the "Today" show at the beginning of this year and was warmly embraced by his co-stars and fans, who had a celebration for his first episode back:

"It's been a warm welcome back from the moment Al arrived to studio 1A!"

Sometime after his return, Deborah shared how well her husband, whom she calls the sun and star in their family, was doing since overcoming his health issues. She confirmed Al was back to his old self again and jokingly spoke about how his return to normalcy converged with his tendency to drive her crazy.

Deborah also candidly addressed what she went through on her end as Al's caretaker when he was still unwell. Speaking about the role she had to take on, she disclosed:

"I think a lot of people don't realize that—and I never realized that—that being a caregiver is really taxing, exhausting, frightening, all of those things and I never went through anything like this...but you know what, I'm grateful and just trying to just bask in the moment and just be happy that he's well..."

The couple that made it through the fire of Al's health scares together have recently celebrated 28 years of marriage. After the difficult time they went through, Al and Deborah had cause for celebration for another reason apart from the "Today" weatherman's improved health: they became first-time grandparents earlier this year.

Baby Sky Clara Laga was born on July 3 to Courtney Roker Laga and her husband, Wes Laga. Doting grandpa Al, naturally, was over the moon once he learned he would be a grandfather. Of his precious granddaughter's arrival and how it feels to be a grandad, he gushed:

"It is magical...To hold this little girl, knowing that...almost 35 years ago I held her mom, you know, and here she is...and she's just perfect..."

From the moment his granddaughter was born up until now, Al has proudly shown her off. His most recent post of little Sky, now four months old, was seven days ago and showed a heartwarming picture of Courtney and her baby girl on the cover of a magazine.

In the picture, mama bear Courtney is seen protectively holding onto baby Sky, who is sitting on her lap and looking at the camera. Al's caption expresses his pride in seeing his daughter and granddaughter posing as cover girls.

Upon seeing the beautiful photo of Courtney and her baby, many marveled at the striking resemblance between Sky and her mom. One fan commented:

"Beautiful, baby looks just like her mom."

Some even went so far as to call Courtney and Sky twins, while others commented on how adorable the baby is. Another fan swooned:
