It has been over two weeks since beloved Hollywood icon Matthew Perry passed away at 54. Perry was an incredibly successful actor in the entertainment industry, with numerous acting credits and productions to his name; however, perhaps one of his most cherished roles was playing Chandler Bing on "Friends."
Perry brought a level of life and charisma to the beloved character that was unmatched. In fact, while looking back on Perry's life and career, "Friends" director James Burrows expressed that he saw something special in the late legend from the first time they met.
Burrows described how in awe of Perry he was and cited his ability to take his lines to the next level when delivering them. Naturally, like millions across the globe, when Burrows learned of Perry's death, he was devastated and divulged the following about how both he and the "Friends" cast felt:
"I had to have a couple of days to, you know, just let it soak in. He was part of a family...I texted the girls...the day we found out, and they were destroyed. It's a brother dying."
More than just co-stars, the "Friends" cast were like family, who shared close bonds. As such, Perry and actor David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller, were good friends, too.

They were such good friends that in his memoir, "Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing," Perry complimented Schwimmer's business ingenuity, selflessness, and good nature. He also commended his acting prowess and essentially deemed Schwimmer the glue that kept the cast of friends together:
"...Schwimmer, for making us stick together...and deciding we should be a team and getting us a million bucks a week..."
The two also had more than just their comedic acting chops in common, as Perry and Schwimmer revealed that they had a crush on the same actress, who was also a part of "Friends." Before he died, the late star disclosed that he had a crush on Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green.

At the same time, Schwimmer also had a crush on Aniston, and in a past interview, it was revealed that Aniston, too, had feelings for Schwimmer. Of their feelings for each other, Schwimmer disclosed:
"At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other. But it was like two ships passing, because one of us was always in a relationship. So we never crossed that boundary..."

Instead, the two channeled their adoration for each other into their characters, who were lovers on-screen. However, they also noted how there would be moments of cuddling between them behind the scenes.

Perry, who had to deal with his unrequited love for Aniston, also admitted that he knew of Schwimmer and Aniston's crush on each other. While talking about the somewhat love triangle, Perry said:
"...I knew what was going on, and eventually, my crush dissipated...At first, it was like—she would walk in, I'd be like, 'Hey, good to see you.' And then I'd go to my dressing room and just go, '..I'll never be able to be with her.' "
Perry was honest with himself about knowing he would likely not end up with Aniston, so he took a step back and eventually got over his crush. Nonetheless, Schwimmer and Perry remained good friends, who, years after the show ended, still enjoyed goofing around with each other as buddies.
