After trying for a year to fall pregnant, Reba McEntire's daughter-in-law, Marissa, shared an update on how her journey was going. She thanked her fans for their support during her journey.

Reba has one son named Shelby Blackstock, who she shares with her ex-husband, Narvel. Last year, Shelby married Marissa Branch, a woman who works at a cosmetic surgery private practice.

The couple felt the most crucial part of their wedding was to bring their families together. However, they have decided to start their own family and share candid updates about their journey.

What Did Marissa Say About Fertility?

Marissa recently took to Instagram to share that she and Reba's son, Shelby, had been trying to conceive for a year. She revealed that she and her husband were working with Nashville's top OBGYN.

She shared that November had been their first treatment cycle, and although they hadn't received the results they had hoped for, she was grateful that they were both still healthy and had each other.

Marissa thanked Shelby for being there for her during this time, saying he had been supportive, strong, and optimistic, calling him her "rock." She also shared that they had discovered they needed little things to look forward to to keep them happy during their difficult journey.

One of the ways the couple ensured they had something to look forward to was by booking a golf day so they would have something to look forward to and connect that would not be impacted by the result of a pregnancy test. Marissa said she was sharing her story not to gain sympathy but rather to gain understanding. She added:

"I'm sharing our story openly because the silence around fertility struggles needs to be broken. It's a tougher and more common journey than many realize."

She ended the post by saying that if anyone was struggling with fertility issues, they were not alone on the emotional rollercoaster and encouraged her followers to share their stories with her and share how they stay positive during difficult times.

Reba's Grandchildren

If Marissa and Shelby were to welcome a biological child, it would be Reba's first biological grandbaby. However, this does not mean she is not already a loving and supportive grandmother.

Reba is close to Kelly Clarkson, who married Narvel's stepson, Brandon. Kelly and Brandon welcomed two children and parented Brandon's son and daughter from his previous relationship.

Despite the fact that Brandon and Kelly are no longer married, Reba has remained close to the family and treats the children as her grandchildren. Kelly even once thanked Reba for being a wonderful grandma to her children.

Apart from that, Reba has another three grandchildren but said she hardly ever sees them because everyone is so busy. She shared:

"I've got seven grandchildren, so they're scattered all over the country and busy doing stuff."

Although she does not often spend time with her grandchildren, Reba has clearly stated many times how much she loves being around them whenever she gets the chance.
