Giacomo Gianniotti is an actor commonly known for his role as Dr. Deluca in the iconic series, "Grey's Anatomy." Away from the camera, he is also happily married to his wife, Nichole Gustafson.

The pair said "I do" a few years ago; however, their journey has not always been easy. Nichole Gustafson's husband opened up about the couple's experience of missed miscarriages, having to have medical abortions and the traumatic experience of sharing the news with their loved ones.

Nichole Gustafson's Husband Said He Found a 'Similar Soul' in Her

In 2017, Gustafson and her husband turned to Instagram to celebrate their engagement, and while the actor gushed about being one lucky guy, Gustafson sweetly shared in part, "This man has showed me what true love is. What a dream come true, pinch me."

Gustafson and Gianniotti officially became husband and wife in April 2019, and the former posted a glimpse of their wedding day with a snap of the pair exchanging vows at the altar. "Best day of my life! 4•28•19," Gustafson captioned another post capturing her beautiful wedding gown.

Gustafson has made a name for herself as a makeup artist and once worked with her husband on "Azzurro," a 2018 film.

However, during an interview, her famous husband revealed getting married was never in the cards for him, as tying the knot was not something Gianniotti necessarily dreamt of.

But that all changed once he met his future wife, and getting hitched just "felt so right and it fit." Gustafson's husband said about her:

"I was pretty blown away by how much it changes things, and positively. It's like an unexplainable energy shift when you really commit yourself to someone and make it official. It's beautiful. I think it's just recognizing a similar soul — a soul that feels like yours."

A year after saying "I do," Gustafson revealed she and her husband were still "laughing and dancing" since getting married and posted a snap of them blissfully happy and in love on their wedding day.

Nichole Gustafson and Her Husband Went into Business Together in 2021

Over the years, Gustafson has made a name for herself as a makeup artist and once worked with her husband on "Azzurro," a 2018 film. She was on her way to 50,000 followers on Instagram at the time of writing, and her passion for creativity saw her venture into interior design and real estate.

"I think the reason why I was drawn to interiors, is because I am an artist of course. But like makeup, interior design is similar in the way you can just really go there with your creativity. When you're a creative, it's hard to do anything else. I love real estate, it interests me," Gustafson typed on Instagram.

She joined forces with her husband in 2021 and started Caliente Oasis Palm Springs, a vacation rental home. "We did a thing, we bought a beautiful luxury vacation home in Palm Springs!" Gustafson announced on Instagram.

Nichole Gustafson's Husband Opened Up about Their 'Traumatic' Experience of Losing Two Children

In 2022, Gustafson's husband appeared on "The Man Enough Podcast" and revealed that during the pandemic, he and his wife suffered two missed miscarriages. He said:

The "Grey's Anatomy" — formerly home to Sandra Oh, Patrick Dempsey, and Katherine Heigl — star added the second traumatic part of having two missed miscarriages was going to a medical facility to have an abortion, and the third was having to share the news with their loved ones and community.

However, although the experience was incredibly challenging for the couple, Gustafson admitted to being proud of her husband for talking about it, sharing, "Very proud of my husband to go on and talk about something so personal to us and so many others."
