Ryan Goodell Is Actress Nikki Deloach's Husband: Inside Their over 20-Year Relationship
Ryan Goodell and his wife, Nikki Deloach, have celebrated over ten years of marriage and over 20 years of being together. The actress said marrying Ryan Goodell was the best decision she had ever made and revealed the secret to their long-lasting marriage.
Ryan Goodell and his wife had known each other for years before a romance blossomed, which led to the couple tying the knot and welcoming two children. However, their journey has not always been easy, as the couple's second son faced life-threatening health complications.
This year marked 24 years of Ryan Goodell and his wife being together while being married for 14, and the actress shared that every day she wakes up and chooses her husband.
Ryan Goodell Was in a Boyband When He Met His Future Wife
In 1997, Ryan, his brother Clay, and three other boys came together to form the Orlando-based boy band Take 5. Ryan and Clay were already classically trained and dabbled in commercials and musical theater.
Take 5 traveled the world, releasing songs and performing in Europe and Asia. However, the boy band struggled to build a solid fan base on U.S. soil and eventually went their separate ways.
Ryan's second son was born in September 2017 and was taken to have open-heart surgery at only five days old.
Ryan and his actress wife met during his days as a musician, as they were both in the entertainment industry. The couple had known each other for years before he asked her out on a date, and they took a decade to tie the knot.
Towards the end of his time in Take 5, Ryan proposed that they relocate to Los Angeles — without any money — to chase their dreams, as he had set his sights on being a lawyer. Ryan's famous wife joked:
"Ryan was like, 'I was thinking of maybe going to L.A. with you and maybe going to law school.' I thought, 'This might work. This actually might work because if you're going to keep doing the boy band thing, I love you so much, but I send you away with love.'"
Ryan Goodell and His Wife's Second Son Had to Have Open-Heart Surgery
After saying "I do," Ryan and his wife welcomed their eldest son, William. However, their world came crashing down around them as, five months into their second pregnancy, the couple learned their second son, Bennett, had multiple heart defects.
Ryan's wife recalled the moment their doctor told them about their son's medical condition, and while the entertainment lawyer tried to ease his wife's worries, she was inconsolable.
Ryan's second son was born in September 2017 and was taken to have open-heart surgery at only five days old. The newborn fortunately survived the surgery others had not. "This experience, while certainly the most difficult and terrifying of my life, has been the most transformative and inspirational," Ryan's wife said.
Ryan Goodell's Wife Opened Up about the Secret to Their Long-Lasting Marriage
Earlier this year, Nikki — who shared the silver screen with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway in "Love and Other Drugs" and Anna Faris in "The House Bunny" — turned to Instagram to celebrate Ryan's birthday and sweetly typed:
"So grateful for the day you were born. Happy birthday, my love. What a gift you are to us. Here's to watching the sun go down together for many, many more. Love you so much ❤️."
In honor of their sixth wedding anniversary in September 2015, Ryan's wife admitted that marrying him was the best decision she had ever made. In celebration of 14 years of marriage and 24 years of being together in September, Nikki revealed the secret to a long-lasting relationship.
"I've often been asked if there's a secret to a long-lasting relationship. And my answer is always this: There's no secret. If there is one, I don't know it and I have zero advice. The only thing I know is that I just woke up each day and I chose my husband," she shared.
