Darius McCrary is best known for his role as Eddie Winslow on the sitcom "Family Matters." Recently, he was arrested for the second time after failing to deal with his family matters. The news of McCrary's second arrest broke on December 16, 2023.
McCrary, who is a father of three, was arrested after failing to pay child support and booked on November 27. Court documents indicated that he owed an outstanding amount of $52,788.04, since March 2019.
However, McCrary has been in this situation before. In 2015, he was arrested after he missed payments totaling $5,500. McCrary claimed he could not pay the child support because he was not making any money.
The actor's financial woes have been a public concern for several years. In 2017, McCrary disclosed that he had earned just over $500 in the previous year, leading to difficulties in fulfilling his child support obligations.
These financial challenges also impacted his personal life, as he shared that he had to move in with his aunt and uncle due to his monetary constraints. Additionally, he was struggling to secure acting roles and had outstanding debts with the IRS.
Despite these hardships, McCrary has consistently expressed his deep affection for his children. In a touching gesture in 2020, he shared a video montage of his children on social media, extending Father's Day greetings to fellow fathers. This public display of affection underscores the emotional complexity of his situation, balancing the demands of fatherhood with the challenges of financial and legal hurdles.
