James, who sadly passed away at 51 in 2013, was beloved and well-known by many for portraying Tony Soprano on the legendary TV series. His portrayal of the character was so brilliant that it won him three Emmy Awards.

Eight years after James Gandolfini died, his son, who also forged his career in acting, reprised his dad's role when he starred in "The Many Saints of Newark," as the teenage version of Tony.
When speaking about his role in the 2021 film, Michael discussed how it felt to play a role that James previously played. In this regard, the 24-year-old divulged: "I was always like, 'I want to make my dad proud.'"
Interestingly, aside from the evident pressures to do a great job with the difficult task of playing the character, Michael previously admitted that he didn't have much interest in "The Sopranos" when he was younger.
Michael Gandolfini had also said that he wasn't entirely aware of the incredible legacy his dad had created because he simply knew James as his father instead of the massive star he was.
