In recent news, a divorce dismissal request filed by one of music icon Cher's sons has been rejected. This ruling comes at the same time Elijah Blue Allman faces a conservatorship issue with his mom.
Cher's conservatorship filing is based on her concerns about her son's inability to care for himself properly or manage his finances responsibly. Before the dismissal, Elijah had initially filed for divorce from his wife of eight years, Marieangela King, three years ago in November.

At the beginning of this month, Elijah filed for divorce dismissal despite Marieangela alleging that she had not seen him since last April. She also claimed the two had previously agreed to work on their marital issues.

However, Marieangela alleged that she and her estranged husband's attempts to work on their marriage were thwarted by Cher's interference. On this, she stated that the "Strong Enough" singer continued to "interfere" with Elijah's "health management as well as his location and accessibility."
Elijah's estranged wife then requested that he pay her legal fees, continue paying her spousal support, and another $40,000, which she said was outstanding. She cited Allman's "lack of effort" in reconciliation as grounds for her request.

Cher's son's rejected divorce dismissal comes days after a judge of the Los Angeles Supreme Court denied the music legend's conservatorship petition on January 5. It also happened days before another upcoming hearing on the conservator matter, which is set to take place on January 29.

In her filing, which occurred last year in December, court documents stipulated: "Any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah's life at risk."
The doting mom also highlighted that Elijah makes a whopping $120,000 per year and clarified that he is permitted ongoing distributions of funds sourced by the trust that his late dad, Greg Allman, established for him.

Although his mom expressed the need for a conservatorship due to his issues with substance abuse, Elijah Blue Allman responded by objecting to his mom's filing.
A news outlet reports that though the 41-year-old admitted to past struggles with addiction, he appeared before the court to assert that he is sober, free of substances, attending AA meetings, and is willing to undergo future drug tests.
