On July 19, 2024, Brad continued going to outings, and he seemed unbothered despite two of his daughters choosing to drop his name a few months ago. The 60-year-old appeared to be in good spirits, and he smiled, posed, and waved at the media in Hungaroring, Hungary.

A netizen also said, "Brad Pitt will always be a classic of handsome men category's. (sic)" Focusing on something else, another reader wrote, "He looks relaxed for someone who has 6 kids that no longer want to carry his name."

The reader was referring to how Brad's twin daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, changed her last name in May 2024. The 15-year-old got her mother Angelina Jolie's support while exploring her artistic side.

One publication revealed that the Playbill for "The Outsiders" musical had her listed as "Vivienne Jolie," sans her father's last name. Angelina's daughter, born in 2008, served as a production assistant while the actress was the producer.

That same month, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed legal documents to drop her father's last name. Instead, the teenager, who turned 18 on May 27, wants to use her mother's last name. She wishes to be known as "Shiloh Jolie."

An outlet said Shiloh filed her paperwork on Memorial Day, a day that coincided with her birthday. Her request hasn't officially been granted, and it might be a matter of time before it becomes legal.

Besides her and Vivienne taking the bold step, their other sister, Zahara, has also reportedly omitted "Pitt" from her name on separate occasions. In November 2023, when Zahara joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College, she made her announcement.

In an Essence video, her new sorority sisters cheered her on as she took center stage. Angelina's daughter announced, "My name is Zahara Marley Jolie," before dancing and flipping her hair.

The news of the children's name changes came amidst ongoing legal battles between the famous parents. The former couple has been disputing their shared ownership of a French winery. They're also tackling abuse allegations that have placed considerable emotional and financial strain on the family.

In 2016, Angelina filed for divorce from Brad before a court declared them legally single in 2019. The former couple got joint custody in 2021, but it still remains a significant aspect of their post-divorce legal struggles.

Speaking to a publication about his career in 2022, Brad said he was thinking carefully about what was ahead of him. He was also mulling over the path he wanted to take for the "last leg" of his creative career. The actor wondered about "this last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?"

Part of the process for him was "mining his dreams for what meaning they might contain." He noted how in California they talked about "being your authentic self" a lot. What that means plagued him until he figured that, for him, it was "getting to a place of acknowledging those deep scars that we carry."
