The setting for their intimate nuptials was nothing short of spectacular—a white convertible, once owned by the singer Usher, provided the backdrop for their vows.

The couple couldn't contain their joy and shared their excitement with the media through their representative, declaring, "Just when we thought our happiest days were forever behind us … WE HAPPENED."

Others, taken aback by the swiftness of his move after his wife's passing, commented, "Wow, that was fast." John replied with candid honesty, "Seriously? How long is long enough to not wake up in the morning and wish you had died in your sleep? Just wondering."

John further expressed his thoughts, "Happiness is a gift that should be cherished. I never thought I would see it again and here you are making despicable comments. Shameful."

Their Hollywood adventures didn't stop there; they also turned heads in July 2023 at the grand opening of the Hollywood Museum's new exhibit honoring Abbott and Costello.

John and Dee Dee met a year after his wife Alicia lost her battle to cancer. On the brink of giving up everything, he found hope and happiness in his now wife Dee Dee. But the veteran actor's love life hasn't been a bed of roses. He has been married three times, with his first two marriages ending in divorce.

He was married to former Miss America Tawny Little from 1983 to 1986. In 1993, he wed Elly Castle, but their marriage ended in 2014 after 21 years.

Shortly after, John met actress Alicia during a lunch meeting for a film project. They instantly connected, and the actor was taken by her proactive attitude and sharp wit.

"I knew that I had met my person," John said at the time. The couple dated for five years before marrying in 2019 in a small ceremony at John Schneider Studios in Holden, Louisiana. At that time, John's divorce from Elly was still ongoing, and he and Alicia planned to make their marriage legal once it was finalized.

Alicia described their wedding as "a wonderful celebration, a sanctuary of love. Just a perfect day of celebrating with friends and family." While John added, "Happy is too small of a word."

The two even collaborated on numerous films and composed about 110 songs together. However, their happiness was challenged in May 2019 when Alicia was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after their vows.

"This past Memorial Day I was diagnosed with stage 4 HER2 negative cancer," Alicia revealed in a joint interview. John explained, "She was three years into a five-year shelf life."

Alicia saw a dermatologist after noticing changes in her skin, who diagnosed her with breast cancer. By 2020, the cancer was in remission, and John shared she was doing well. However, in December 2021, a race car crash left Alicia with a broken back, and scans revealed her cancer had returned and spread to her bones.

Alicia sadly succumbed to her four-year battle with the disease in February 2023. John announced her passing on Facebook with a heartfelt post.

"My beautiful Smile is pain-free, living in her new body alongside Jesus. Please respect our privacy during this time of grief. [...] Hug those you love tight and let them know how you feel. We always did," he wrote.

Part of his healing involved creating a new album, "We Are Still Us," to honor Alicia. "It hurt so bad to write. It hurt so bad to sing. But the final product is going to be healing for those who are going through this," he said.

After almost giving up, John met Dee Dee a year later, describing it as "a miracle." "God sent a widower to a widow and a widow to a widower who [gets] it, who understands," he noted, gesturing to his new partner off-camera.

"Just when I thought the very notion of dating or holding another hand was repulsive, I met this one, that crazy Dame over there," the public figure added.

The actor's journey through grief and healing showcases his resilience and strength. Finding love again after such a significant loss demonstrates his determination to honor his late wife's memory while embracing the future.
