The ex-husband and father of Jennifer Lopez's children and his family weren't home when the fire broke at 7 a.m., as they were not in the country at the time.

The estate is located in the La Romana neighborhood at the Casa de Campo tourist complex, also loved by celebrities like Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z, as well as Justin Bieber. Security in the area is extremely tight due to the number of celebrities who live there.
Pictures and footage on X revealed the damage caused by the fire. A news producer shared a photo showing a building that had burned down.
A burnt roof and wooden beams were visible in the image, where it seemed like two trees were also burnt. A journalist from a local news program also uploaded a video of the blaze underway, with the first responders from Casa de Campo's fire department on-site fighting to control it.

Anthony's estate's main house has American pine finishes and several bungalows that can accommodate up to 24 people. There are two swimming pools on the property, one of which resembles an artificial beach.
Opposite one of the pools is a "two-level palapa" or a thatched-roof dwelling usually open on the sides. The property also has various pavilions, cabanas, and an entertainment set with a screen and speakers.
The compound, set away from the coastline, offers privacy with imported sand creating a waterfront feel. The grounds feature well-kept gardens, paths, and outdoor amenities.

Lopez's ex bought the luxury villa in 2014, and that same year, he married his now ex-wife, Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima, there. Several celebrities attended the couple's wedding, with Anthony recalling, "Our housewarming party was literally our wedding week."

Before buying the estate, it only had the house and the swimming pool immediately behind it. The musician revealed that it was "surrounded by wild vegetation," and he began imagining it having more. Anthony said, "The second we moved in, I started drawing my ideas on napkins and buying up the adjacent lots. I just had a vision for it."
He enlisted the help of Dino Barré, a local architect from DM Dominicana, who also happens to be the original house's designer. The original home was modeled after the once rapidly growing sugar mills in the area.

Some of the features Anthony wanted included were a sports bar pavilion, an outdoor movie theater, and palapas that incorporated indigenous materials. These materials included coral stone and eucalyptus wood. The bungalows were designed to match those seen at the resorts in Bora-Bora and the Maldives.
The star confessed this about the project, "I'm glad I didn't think about the scope of the undertaking for too long—I probably wouldn't have had the nerve to do it." The singer's passion for the project stemmed from his love for design and his desire to create the ultimate retreat.
Marc Anthony said after touring for over 20 years and being confined to hotel rooms, he learned how to "enjoy spaces." He was personally involved in outfitting the rooms with furnishings custom-made by local craftsmen. The star also used Indonesian and Balinese furniture.
The accessories were fashioned from mahogany, teak, and sapele. One of the palapas was converted into an artist's studio for the singer to enjoy his painting hobby. In 2016, an image of a modern-looking bedroom by the pool was featured in a publication's Facebook post.
Reports revealed that the singer uses the property as a retreat. He vacations there with his family, on occasions such as Christmas or New Year's Day. The 10,000-square-foot main house often hosts Anthony's guests and relatives.
Whenever the star has performances in the Dominican Republic, he stays at the villa. The estate is down the road from a soccer field in the exclusive resort.
