American singer and actor Shaun Cassidy was a teen heartthrob in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He then started his own family and has sons who look just like him. Recently, he has turned to his children for comfort.

Cassidy's brother passed away suddenly almost ten years ago, and he turned to his children to help him overcome the grief. He still spends time with his sons and enjoys being around them.

Cassidy was born to famous parents, Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy. Cassidy's parents were actors with extensive careers in Hollywood, so he grew up around the limelight and followed in his parent's footsteps.

In his teens and early adulthood, Cassidy became Joe Hardy of “The Hardy Boys." Recently, Cassidy gave a rare interview in which he talked about his time on “The Hardy Boys" and what it meant to him.

The show premiered in January 1977, quickly catapulting Cassidy to fame and becoming a teen idol. He became all the more famous when he released his first song, his single "Da Doo Ron Ron."

Cassidy believes that the reason the show, which premiered 46 years ago today, is still talked about almost five decades later is that the boys had an endearing quality and acted like adults. In contrast, the actual adults looked on, confused.

Another thing that people are still talking about all these years later is the boys' hair. Cassidy joked that the secret to having such fabulous hair was wigs. However, he also said they used a lot of hairspray in their hair. He quipped:

"And we could be in a windstorm, and it wouldn't move."

However, when the show finally ended, Cassidy said it was sudden. Yet he was not disappointed that the show ended. He said he was driven by money and wanted to do bigger things than the show.

He did not leave the show when it was still running because he felt that if he left, his audience would never forgive him, and he would have no chance in Hollywood. When the show finally ended, though, Cassidy said there weren't many movies waiting for him.

Now, he is in his 60s and the father to seven children. He does not often give interviews, but when he does, he talks about his time on “The Hardy Boys." Mostly, he spends time with his family.

After Cassidy left the show, he worked on other shows for a while, but his role in “The Hardy Boys" is still one of his most famous. In his recent interview, he talked about the fact that he still works at Universal.

His favorite part of working for Universal is that he works with other writers and helps develop young writers trying to break into the business. He also loves working with people who have different experiences than he does.

In 1980, Cassidy released his studio LP, entitled "Wasp." However, he did not stick with the music, and after "Wasp," he went in a different direction. He went from being an actor and singer to a writer and producer of shows like "American Gothic," "Roar," and "Invasion."

In 2019, Cassidy briefly returned to the stage and performed some of his "Wasp" songs. Talking about why he decided to do that, he said:

"I felt I had a story to tell."

Cassidy's seven children are shared with three women. He has a daughter, Juliet, with Susan Diol. Juliet was born in March 1998. He then had children, Caitlin, and John Cassidy, with his ex-wife and Ann Pennington.

Cassidy is now married to Tracey Lynne Turner, and together they share four children; Caleb, Roan, Lila, and Mairin. Cassidy often shows his family off on social media, bragging about them and their special occasions.

He took to Instagram in April 2019 to share a rare photo of his wife, saying that even though she enjoys her privacy and does not like her image to be shared on social media, he could not resist showing her off.

He had taken the photo moments after she could finally relax following Easter celebrations. He said they had spent all night prepping their easter egg hunt, and "the light in her eyes says it all." The wonderful pair have been together for almost 19 years.

Three days ago, Cassidy once again shared a photo of his wife for her birthday. The picture showed his wife resting her head in her hand, staring into the distance. He gushed:

"There is not a day in any of our lives that you don't make better.”

Many of his fans and friends commented on the post, wishing her a happy birthday and saying she looked terrific. He also shared a photo just before that of his wife and their children on the beach.

Why Did His Brother Suddenly Die?

Cassidy's older brother was the star of the popular TV series "The Patridge Family." in 2017, he paid an emotional tribute to his brother after he suddenly passed away. He gushed:

"When I was a little boy, and my big brother would come to visit, the first call of business would be a punishing pillow fight."

He then said the pillow fights culminated in his older brother telling him stories of their father and leaping off the top bunk of Cassidy's bunk beds. Among these fond memories, Cassidy said his favorite were the ones he had with his brother in the last few years of his life.

In 2017, David Cassidy was declared dead after being hospitalized at 67 for organ failure. It was thought he needed a liver transplant, but he could not get to that stage, as he died just days after being hospitalized. Cassidy still misses his brother dearly.
