She spoke about Douglas' father, Kirk Douglas, the Hollywood legend who died in 2020 at the age of 103. "He was wonderful, and he was very fond of me, as I was of him. I miss him," she shared. She also pointed to her father-in-law and his wife, Anne Buydens' reputation for generosity, saying they "left a philanthropic legacy that was way beyond movies."

The older Douglas, who had an estimated fortune of more than $60 million, gave most of his wealth to his charitable foundation and left nothing to his son. Even so, Zeta-Jones made it clear that she and her husband are comfortable in their own right.

Together, the couple owns four homes: two in New York, one in Canada, and another in Spain. It was in describing their lifestyle that she added, "I know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty, but it's not excessive, it's very comfortable."

Her remarks quickly set off a wave of criticism across social media. On Instagram, one user wrote, "Some people may never be able to afford a house. So out of touch with reality." Another added, "Clueless! Its [sic] best not to talk!" while a third commented, "Hollywood is so out of touch. What a diva."

The criticism was just as strong on Facebook. "Some people are so disconnected, one shouldn't boast about what they have because some can't even afford a roof over their head," one comment read.

One described her as "so far from reality," while another remarked, "Very tone deaf in these economic times when a lot of people can't afford rent. She should learn when to just stay silent."

Even under Page Six's coverage, the reaction was split but leaned negative. One person labeled her as "so entitled," while another one remarked, "Typical entitlement."

Still, one fan offered a different perspective, noting, "Some of you really don't understand the potential that homes of this value have to appreciate. These are investments they get to enjoy."

While lighting, makeup, and even camera angles can affect how a person looks on screen, some viewers argued that the contrast between her Season 1 and Season 2 appearances was striking enough to suggest more than just clever styling.

Social media posts and discussion threads cropped up, with users debating whether her enhanced features were due to age-defying treatments or the result of high-definition cinematography.

One person was more specific, penning, "It looks like an upper bleph to me - super trendy surgery right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if she got it. It makes your eyes less hooded and gives you more visible eyelid area."

An individual in support of the theory, added, "Can't confirm but I'd bet a lot of money, as mentioned in another comment, it's an upper eye procedure she had done. Yes the hair and makeup changed slightly, but I would bet this is the biggest thing people are seeing."

Others shifted focus to overall weight changes, with one remarking, "Morticia's gotten thinner." That sentiment was echoed by another, "It just looks like she lost a little weight."

And finally, a viewer pointed out, "She also looks like she lost weight. For people who carry weight in their face, it can make a big difference. And of course, makeup can make a huge difference."

Catherine Zeta-Jones has not publicly addressed the speculation. Still, the buzz around her appearance highlights how quickly conversations about beauty and aging emerge, especially when a beloved character returns to the screen looking just a little different.

That same scrutiny is evident off-screen as well. During the London premiere of "Wednesday," the actress once again set social media abuzz, this time with a daring fashion choice. Zeta-Jones wore thick, gothic-styled makeup to the event, pairing it with a bold, backless black dress.

Her gown featured a daring chest cutout that plunged to her midriff, tulle accents, a thigh-high slit, and a sweeping train. Adorned with silver sequins, the dress shimmered under the lights, adding just the right amount of sparkle to its elegant design.

The "Chicago" actress styled her long, signature jet-black hair in a sleek bun and accessorized her dramatic look with a pair of spider-like ear cuffs and a pair of large, chunky rings in white gold.

Her striking makeup was created by longtime artist Brett Freedman, who used dark, rusty tones from her eyebrows down to her lips to channel her character from the Tim Burton-created Netflix series. Working alongside him was stylist Maranda Widlund, who felt that the slicked-back bun perfectly showcased the actress's bold gown.

Fans quickly reacted to Zeta-Jones' dramatic look, flooding social media with both praise and criticism. "My god! What has she done to her face?" one fan asked. "Who's funeral they at? [sic]" a critic commented.

"Way too much makeup," one criticized. "She always looked Hispanic for some odd reason," one person added. Despite the criticism, others praised the actress for her striking appearance. "My Catherine oh my gosh 😍," her fan praised.

Beyond her red carpet moment, Zeta-Jones once spoke candidly about life as an actress in her 50s and her views on aging. "The roles that are coming my way are different and more interesting," she admitted. "But I'm not anti-plastic surgery at all. Contrary to public opinion, I have not been under the knife... yet, is what I say!" She added that if she ever chose to undergo plastic surgery, it would be for herself, not anyone else.

While the actress admits to not having gone under the knife, there have been instances in the past where her fans and critics noticed that she might have undergone non-invasive treatments on her face. During Zeta-Jones' outing at the 2024 Red Seas International Film Festival, netizens couldn't help but hint that she might have undergone Botox or fillers.

As for how she stays fit, the actress credits dance for keeping her in shape. "Being active and on my feet is much healthier for my psyche." She said she makes it a point to sweat every day, whether by power walking outdoors, running on her treadmill, or occasionally doing bodywork, arm work, and even tap dancing.

At the premiere, Zeta-Jones also spoke about her upcoming 25th wedding anniversary with Michael Douglas. "I think that what we've accomplished, and I think both of us will say the same and I'll speak for myself, is our children are truly wonderful," she said. "The joy they bring us, and now that they've flown the nest, the joy that we have together."

Zeta-Jones and Douglas, who married in 2000, share two children, Dylan, 24, and Carys, 22. The actress has often spoken about how close-knit their family is, even as their children have grown and moved out on their own.

The couple will celebrate their anniversary on November 18, 2025. However, filming commitments for "Wednesday" Season 3 may delay their plans.

Ultimately, Zeta-Jones is grateful to Douglas for being supportive of her booming career. "I've been working a lot this year and he's been so supportive," she gushed.

The couple plans to celebrate their 25th anniversary during the holidays, once filming wraps, and they can enjoy time together away from Hollywood's hectic pace.
