The wedding was held at the historic Abadía Retuerta estate in Valladolid, Spain — a place steeped in Old World charm, nestled amid the golden vineyards of Castilla y León.

Surrounded by rolling hills and centuries-old architecture, the intimate celebration brought together close friends and beloved family members, including Stella's parents, her half-sister Dakota Johnson, and her grandmother, screen legend Tippi Hedren.

The bride stunned in an off-the-shoulder lace gown — elegant, timeless, and ethereal. Beside her, Alex looked like the classic groom in a sharp black tuxedo. Weekend photos showed the newlyweds beaming, hand in hand, basking in love and the Spanish sunlight.

Antonio, 65, appeared deeply moved. The "Mask of Zorro" star was photographed raising a glass to his daughter, eyes glistening, smile wide as he made a toast to the couple.

He shared his thoughts with ¡HOLA!, ahead of the big day, saying, "Seeing my daughter dressed as a bride will be one of the most beautiful moments of my life. I get to be the father of the bride, and it's a role I take on with all the emotion in the world."

A Bride Rooted in Her Heritage

The "Acts of Vengeance" actor's pride ran even deeper, knowing that Stella chose Spain — his homeland — for this most personal moment. He told the publication:

"Having her get married in Spain fills me with pride. She's very Andalusian, very much from Málaga, even if she grew up in the U.S. This is her way of reconnecting with her roots and sharing her homeland with her future husband and his family."

And Stella agreed. In her statement to the magazine before the wedding, she revealed, "I feel so lucky to be getting married in the country where I was born," adding that her father's Málaga roots have always held a special place in her heart.

As guests gathered in the heart of Spain, the couple’s vision of blending family, heritage, and joy began to unfold.

A Weekend of Celebration and Reunion

The festivities kicked off Friday night with a pre-wedding dinner hosted by the groom's mother, Ellen Gruszynski, who personally curated the details — from the traditional Spanish menu to the live music that set the stage for a weekend of joy.

Though Stella's parents, Antonio and Melanie, divorced in 2015, their bond remains strong — and that unity was fully displayed throughout the weekend. Their daughter's wedding wasn't just a ceremony. It was a reunion, a celebration of family, legacy, and the enduring ties that bind, no matter what.

From Preschool Friends to Lifelong Soulmates

Amid all the family joy and reunion, the weekend was also a tribute to the couple whose love story stretches back decades.

Their story reads like a fairytale. Stella and Alex first met as toddlers at Wagon Wheel School, forming a childhood friendship that bloomed into romance when they were just 19. Though life briefly led them in different directions, they eventually found their way back — stronger and surer than ever.

'He Looks like Her Dad': Fans Spot an Uncanny Resemblance

Stella's own announcement, posted that same August, was brimming with excitement, "I get to hang out with my favorite person on earth forever!!!!!!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍."

One photo stood out among her carousel of images — a tender snapshot from their teenage years, taken in a school hallway. Sitting on the floor in front of a row of lockers, young Stella wrapped her arms around Alex.

In the caption, he wrote, "The wedding of my daughter Stella has turned into a heartfelt family reunion, emotional, joyful, and full of laughter. Thank you to everyone who made this possible."
