Thomas Markle Sr., the estranged father of Meghan Markle, was rushed to a hospital in the Philippines on December 2, 2025. His son, Thomas Markle Jr., who has been his primary caregiver for years, spoke to the Daily Mail about the terrifying ordeal. He revealed, "I took dad to a hospital close to our home and they did various scans and the doctors said his life was in imminent danger."

"They raced us by ambulance, with the sirens going, to a much bigger hospital in the centre of the city," he continued. "My dad has undergone emergency surgery. I would ask everyone around the world to keep him in their thoughts."

But his most urgent plea was directed toward his half sister.

A Declining Condition

Thomas Sr.'s daughter, Samantha Markle, believes the strain of the family conflict has made her father's health even more precarious. Still, she told the Daily Mail that he remained resilient and was praying for his recovery.

The truth is that his health has been fragile for years. He previously suffered two heart attacks in 2018, just before Meghan's wedding, which prevented him from traveling from Los Angeles to London.

His absence is one of the reasons King Charles walked the future duchess down the aisle at St. George's Chapel in Windsor.
