A glittering holiday photo dropped the day after Christmas instantly sent fans of the pop diva into a frenzy, as her towering teens in festive sweaters left people amused, confused, and deeply curious.

On December 26, 2025, Mariah Carey posted a Christmas photo with her twins, Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, in front of a glittering tree. The image was festive, complete with coordinated outfits and some surprising hand gestures, but it was those unexpected details that set off a wildfire of reactions across social media.

Like many celebrities, the singer decided to share a holiday snap to mark the season — one many people associate with her thanks to the eternal Christmas anthem, "All I Want for Christmas," which dominates the charts every December without fail.

In the photo, the singer wore a stunning red-sequined gown while standing between Monroe and Moroccan, who are now 14 years old.

The twins were more low-key in matching jeans and sweaters, but it was what was on those sweaters that stopped everyone in their scroll: their mother’s face and the words “All I Want for Christmas Is You” stretched across their chests.

Both teens now towered over their 56-year-old mother, a visual that only added to the internet’s fascination. Naturally, once the photo began circulating online, people had a lot to say.

Some viewers immediately zeroed in on Moroccan, who's starting to look more and more like his father, Nick Cannon. "That boy is Nicks twin! 🤣" one commenter wrote. Another added, "He looks so much like his dad." A third declared, "He stole Nicks whole face."

Some offered their own DNA breakdowns. "They look like Niiiiiiick with Mariah's hair [sic]," one person noted. Another chimed in, "Monroe look like his Dad with his mother's complexion [sic]," mixing the twins up as Monroe Cannon is Moroccan's sister.

Someone else said, "Those poor kids look mortified to be wearing those goofy sweaters and hat. 🙄"

But it wasn't just the uncanny resemblance that left people talking. Moroccan's odd hand gestures also had netizens raising their eyebrows. "What's with the hand signals from the son! What does it mean?" one baffled viewer asked.

"Looks like her son is flipping people off," another guessed, although Moroccan wasn't being disrespectful at all.

Others were equally puzzled, if not irritated. "He's a nice boy with his fingers in the air 🙄," someone remarked. Another incredulous post read, "Seriously? She had them wearing her on their sweaters?! 🤦🏻‍♀️ What's that hand signal he's doing?"

And it was also easy to notice that someone was missing. While the twins posed in this now-viral holiday portrait, their father was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Nick appeared in photos posted days earlier by Bre Tiesi, along with their child together.

There might be a reason for these separate holiday photos.

Back in November, Monroe spoke about her father's other kids on her Instagram stories. She wrote, "Clearing something up guys, I only have ONE brother." She acknowledged the existence of her siblings, but said that all of them were much younger than her and Moroccan.

Here's a look at the twins' transformation over the years:
