Fixer Upper came to an end after five seasons, and the season finale was aired on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, on HGTV. Fans were also treated to an appearance by the four Gaines children.

The couple became an instant hit and was propelled to fame in 2012 when they signed a contract with HGTV. Their enterprise has continued to go from strength to strength.

As reported by Faith Family America, the end of Fixer Upper only signifies the beginning of new projects and adventures. Apart from a new spinoff show, they also have products for sale at Target.

Joanna took to Twitter and shared her thoughts about their last day on the set of Fixer Upper. She said the entire experience had been quite a journey and described the finale as 'bittersweet.'

Nevertheless, she is still excited about 'what's to come.' For one, Joanna is expecting their fifth child. With Fixer Upper out of the way, for now, she is looking forward to spending time with her family.

According to People, Chip said he can't wait to 'hunker down with our kiddos,' and will make memories with Drake, Ella, Duke and Emmie Kay.

He added that their children are still so young - they range in ages from 7 to 12 - and that this would be the opportune time to 'give them the chance to have a normal childhood.'

“Family is the most important thing in the world.”

On Twitter, Jane Gordon said she had always looked forward to their show on Tuesday evenings, but she is 'heart broken [sic] to know it's the final show.'

Debby Burk said her heart was breaking as well, but she realized it was selfish of her, and wished the Gaines' all the best for the future and their new adventures.

If you simply cannot fathom a life without Chip and Joanna, they still have several projects up their sleeves. Apart from the Target collection, they have published books about home improvement as well.
