Mirror reported that Avicii’s family released a statement thanking fans for the love and support they have been receiving following his sudden death in Muscat.

Tim Bergling, popularly known as Avicci, was 28 years old at the time of his death. His family and fans were shocked by the news of the DJ’s passing away in Oman.

The family said that they have been touched by the loving words being offered by the late star’s fans.

‘We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our son and brother. We are so grateful for everyone who loved Tim’s music and have precious memories of his songs.’

The family also acknowledged and thanked the fans for the initiatives to honor the Avicii including public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella, and moments of silence observed around the world.

They appreciated the privacy afforded to them during such a difficult time and wished that it continued that way.

According to a source in Oman’s police force, authorities have ruled out any foul play in the death of Avicii.

There were two post-mortem examinations conducted to be absolutely sure that they have “no criminal suspicion.”

The music artist had been open about his chronic health issues that saw his appendix and gallbladder being removed. He had been struck down with acute pancreatitis during a US tour when he was just 21 years old.

The condition was partly brought on by excessive alcohol consumption.

He was hospitalized for 11 days in 2014 and had confessed that he had been drinking and partying “way too much.” A pancreatitis attack forced him to stop drinking.

One of the most popular electronic dance-music artists of all time, Avicii was found dead in his hotel room in Oman.
