Remember Kyra from 'Reba'? She's changed a lot after dropping 33 lbs on the show
The 29-year-old actress and singer, Scarlett Pomers, rose to fame as Kyra Hart in the television drama, Reba, when she 13 years old.
Pomers was cast as Reba and Brock Hart's daughter and remained with the show until it was canceled after six seasons in 2007.
As reported by Country Rebel, Pomers battled anorexia nervosa, and couldn't work full time on the show due to the illness.
She only appeared in two episodes of season five before she checked into a treatment facility in 2005 after losing 33lbs, or 15 kg.
She checked out of the facility a year later and returned to Reba for its sixth season, however, her heart wasn't in acting anymore.
When Reba came to an end in 2007, Pomers effectively retired from acting with the intention of pursuing her other passions: music and photography.
She started a band called Scarlett and released her first album, titled Insane, in 2010. Her group also performed at coveted venues like House of Blues and Whiskey on the Go-Go.
As a photographer, Pomers collaborated with brands such as Black Metal Jeans, Retroscope Fashions, and AntiSweden.
After her recovery from anorexia nervosa, Pomers became an ambassador for the National Eating Disorder Association.
According to People, she also founded Arch-Angels, an organization to assist people who cannot afford treatment for eating disorders.
'I’m not gonna sit here and say I don’t worry about my looks or my weight. Some days I feel I have come so far. Other days, I hate the way I look. But I’m at a place where I’m really happy. I have a great family and great friends.'
